Thousand Oaks (Grant R. Brimhall) Library.
There are two great Thousand Oaks libraries; the Grant R. Brimhall Library at 1401 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks (805.449.2660) and the local Newbury Park Branch is at 2331 Borchard Road (805.498.2139). These libraries provide year-round free events, activities and programs for all ages. Selected events from time to time will be covered here.

Pride Month

Patrons are invited to visit the Library and pick up their very own pronoun keychains, bookmarks, and an information sheet on a Beginner’s Guide to Pronouns. Explore reading recommendations for all ages in our catalog.

Plant A Seed Story Slam

Writers ages 18 and older are invited to participate in the Plant a Seed Story Slam, part of our Summer Reading Club. Participants may submit an original story of 1,000 to 1,200 words inspired by the theme “Plant a Seed.” Stories must be submitted by Sunday, June 28, either at the Information Desk at the Grant R. Brimhall or Newbury Park Libraries, or by email to info@tolibrary.org with the subject line “Story Slam.” The top eight stories will be selected for a live reading on Saturday, July 11 at 3:00 p.m. in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room. Selected readers will be notified by Friday, July 3. A prize will be awarded to the top story, as chosen by audience vote.
