The 4th of July Celebration at Channel Islands Harbor offers a full day of activities, entertainment, and great food. Come and enjoy exhibits, an artists’ market, children’s rides and games and finish the day with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 p.m. Free event.

In conjunction with National Safe Boating Week, the U.S. Coast Guard Station Channel Islands will host its 16th Annual Safe Boating Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Harbor East Park, 3874 Murre Way, Oxnard. Admission and parking are free.
Event to include free tours of first responder vessels, in-water rescue demos at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., food truck, booths, raffle prizes, and more.

The Father’s Day Car Show at Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm will feature an eclectic mix of custom cars, hot rods, low riders, motorcycles and classics. It is the perfect day to show off your rides and reconnect with friends and family. Also on hand will be food trucks, raffle, music and numerous vendors.
Proceeds for the event will benefit Food Share of Ventura County.
This car show is open to all solo riders, car clubs and all vehicle types, including motorcycles.
In addition to the car show at Harbor View Park on Father’s Day, the Channel Islands Maritime Museum will also be hosting a Father’s Day Celebration event, which will feature classic cars and boats.

Ventura County’s 35th Annual Juneteenth Celebration is planned for Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 10am to 6pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard. Free event commemorates Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, marking the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. Event to feature live music, local artists, great food and more. A Memorial Day Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street, Oxnard. The community is welcome to join the ceremony in remembrance for those who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Services.
The City of Oxnard Recreation and Community Services Division hosts its 6th Annual Oxnard Insect Festival at Plaza Park, 500 S. C Street on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Experience the world of insects through educational exhibits and enriching experiences. There will also be insects to touch, insects to taste, photo opps, bounce houses, live music and more. The Summer Classic Car Show, co-hosted by the Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association and the All-for-One Car Club, is planned for Sunday, July 26, 2026 in Downtown Oxnard. Over 400 classic and specialty autos from all eras will be on display along a four-block stretch of Historic “A” Street in Downtown Oxnard. The event is free to the viewing public.
In addition to awesome autos on display, there will be live entertainment, and Downtown merchants will be offering food specials. Plenty of free parking will be available on adjacent streets, public lots and the 3rd Street Parking Structure.
$40 advance registration for show cars required. Professional judging with prizes in many categories. Proceeds benefit the Historic Downtown Oxnard Beautification Fund.
The 29th Annual Oxnard Multicultural Festival is presented by the City of Oxnard's Community Relations Commission.
The festival is held annually on the first Saturday of October. The festival celebrates the rich cultural diversity of its residents and the city’s history. People of every culture come together to learn and discover their shared values in an atmosphere that honors all.
The festival offers a variety of performing groups, live music, food trucks, exhibitors, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the entire family. Admission is always free. The 2025 event is Saturday, October 3rd from 10am to 4pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard.

The 27th Annual Celebration of the Whales Festival is planned for Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 11am to 3pm at the Channel Islands Harbor, 3350 Harbor Blvd, Oxnard.
Enjoy activities throughout the Harbor including a community “Paint a Whale” mural project, ocean-themed chalk art, free kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, a children’s fun zone with bounce houses and carnival games, shopping, and educational booths about whale migration.
Stop by the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, Channel Islands Boating Center, the Channel Islands Harbor Farmers Market, and explore the Gray Whale Migration Trail at Harbor View Park connecting the activity areas.

The 40th Annual Ventura County Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is Monday, January 19, 2026.
The event starts at 8 a.m. with a gathering at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Downtown Oxnard, followed by a "Freedom March" to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (OPAC), 800 Hobson Way.
Then at the OPAC is the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance program that starts at 9am, featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Gaye Theresa Johnson. $10 admission includes refreshments. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.mlkventuracounty.com.
