2019 Farmers' Market Pumpkin Fun Day at Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, October 27th

Channel Islands Harbor will hosts its Annual Pumpkin Fun Day on Sunday, October 27. 2019. The community is invited to join in the fun at the Channel Islands Harbor Farmers’ Market located in the north parking lot adjacent to Marine Emporium Landing, 3350 S. Harbor Blvd. Event hours 10am to 2pm.

Various events will be taking place all day, including a decorating pop-up shop where children can make Halloween hats, trick-or-treating throughout the Farmers’ Market, and a costume parade and costume contest, with special prizes given to the winners. Other activities include face painting, live music and a bounce house. The costume parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the costume contest will start at noon.

Channel Islands Harbor serves as a center of recreation, boating, shopping and water sports activities. The harbor is home to three yacht clubs and nine full-service marinas that provide berths for 2,150 boats. It also hosts the Channel Islands Maritime Museum. Halloween Haunt in the Park at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard on Saturday, October 26, 2019


On Saturday, October 26, 2019, The Oxnard Downtown Improvement District will present “Halloween Haunt in the Park.” The kid-friendly thrills occur all evening from 4-7:00pm at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard.

Be sure to register for the free Costume Contest. Everyone wearing a costume can enter to win great prizes. Contests start at 5:30pm starting with the youngest group: 3 and under, 4-12, and 13 and above.

From 4-7:00pm children can visit the Trick-or-Treat Village. Booths created by local non-profits and businesses await trick-or-treaters with games, tricks and goodies to be gained.

Additionally, there will be free activities including bounce houses, face painting, games, hands-on crafts for the kids, Halloween themed movie clips and music and more.

Plaza Park is located at 5th and B streets in Downtown Oxnard.


24th Annual Oxnard Multicultural Festival on Saturday, October 5, 2019

Every year, the Multicultural Festival is presented by the City of Oxnard's Community Relations Commission.

The festival is held annually on the first Saturday of October. MCF celebrates the rich cultural diversity of its residents and the city’s history. People of every culture come together to learn and discover their shared values in an atmosphere that honors all.

The festival offers a variety of performing groups, live music, food trucks, exhibitors, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the entire family. Admission is always free.   The 2019 event is planned for Saturday, October 5th from 10am to 5pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard.

5th Annual Chowderfest Event at Channel Islands Maritime Museum on Sunday, August 4, 2019

Select local restaurants will again compete for the title of “Ventura County’s Best Chowder” at the Fifth Annual CHOWDERFEST on Sunday, August 4, 2019, 2-6pm at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.

A competition judged by both professional judges and guests, chowder tastings are complemented by wine tastings from local wineries and fine craft beer provided by Firestone Walker Brewery. Live music will create a festive mood with Kelly’s Lot and Friends. Local friends and visiting guests will gather at the summer’s most relaxing harbor-front garden party!

Chowderfest is an annual collaborative fundraiser hosted by the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, IOGB (International Order of the Blue Gavel), and local Yacht Clubs. Local restaurants will donate exceptional flavors to the Chowder Cook-off (clam, corn, Manhattan, potato, conch, veggie…) and support the Channel Islands Maritime Museum: a non-profit which celebrates Five Centuries of Art that Sails and gives back to the community nearly every day of the year.

Tickets will be sold on the museum website and at the museum for $25 pre-sale and $30 the day of the event. The price includes chowder, beer & wine tastings; a variety of side dishes; and free Museum admission. The museum welcomes the public and community to attend.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.

10th National Collector Car Appreciation Day Car Show for Southern California on July 14th in Oxnard

The Coachman Car Club of Ventura County is hosting the 10th National Collector Car Appreciation Day Car Show for Southern California on Sunday, July 14th, 2019. Event to take place at Vista Ford Lincoln of Oxnard, 1501 Auto Center Drive from 11am to 4pm.

This event is open to all makes and models of collector cars, whether it be a car, truck, SUV, hot rod, exotic, sedan, hatchback, muscle car, rat rod, sports car, sport compact, domestic, import, JDM, European, and everything in between.

Entertainment is coordinated by Pinups for American Heroes. Live Music from incredible local talent, and the ever popular and classy Pinup Competition. The pinup competition is open to all that would like to compete!

Event proceeds will be donated to the non-profit, Turning Point Foundation, which provides support to those with mental iillnesses in Ventura County.

2019 Heritage Square Summer Concert Series on Friday Nights, June 21 to August 30

Oxnard's Heritage Square Summer Concert Series returns in 2019 for another 12 week run, from June 21 through August 30 (except July 26). Concerts start at 6pm and end at 8:30pm, with a half hour break at 7pm.

The concerts offer entertainment to suit every musical preference - styles range from Reggae to Big Band and from Latin Jazz to Rock.

There is a limit of two tickets per person, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations will be accepted. Ticket sales begin on-site at 5 p.m. in the main plaza on the day of the event. There will be a total of 80 individual seats in the main plaza for sale each night. Tickets are expected to sell out, so concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to make their purchase.
