On Saturday, October 24, 2026, The Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association will present Halloween Haunt in the Park. The kid-friendly thrills occur all evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard. Event will feature trick or treat booths, costume contest, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games, music and more.

The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K is planned for Sunday, December 13, 2026
The half marathon begins at the giant Santa located at 2801 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard and ends at Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor. The half marathon and 5K start at 7:30am and the quarter marathon starts at 7:40am. There’s also a Kids 1K at 8:30am.
This point to point course starts at the historic Santa Claus, off the 101 freeway, runs through Oxnard’s famous strawberry fields, then through downtown Oxnard and beautiful Plaza Park. Next will be historic Candy Cane Lane, where the homes are decorated for the holidays. Finally, you’re off to the Pacific Ocean, the beach, and finishing at the Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor.
The 5K and kids 1K starts and finishes at the Marine Emporium Landing.
Santa to the Sea supports the Nyeland Acres community through food distributions, a toy giveaway, and scholarships to Oxnard College.

The 6th Annual Parade of Frights at Channel Islands Harbor is a non-competitive, Halloween-themed boat parade scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2026.
Prior to the Parade of Frights, a variety of organizations and businesses will be offering Halloween-related events and activities starting at 3 p.m.

The 7th Annual CHOWDERFEST event takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2025, from noon to 4pm at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.
The event will feature live music from local bands, creating the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of culinary delights and community camaraderie. Guests can also explore the museum's exhibits, as admission is included with the event ticket.
Tickets are priced at $45 in advance (event sold out in 2025). Given the event's popularity, advance purchase is highly recommended. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at www.cimmvc.org/chowderfest.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Channel Islands Maritime Museum.
NEW in 2026 - the first ever Sea Lion Imitation Contest! Attendees and volunteers will have the chance to compete for best sea lion impression. Open tryouts are 1-2:30PM, with top 10 advancing to the semifinals, culminating in the top 5 finalists taking the main stage at 3:15pm.
The 11th Annual Oxnard Police Department Halloween Trick or Treat Spooktacular is planned for Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Oxnard Police Station, 251 South C Street, from 5 - 7 PM. Show off your costumes, visit with officers and community partners, and of course, bring your trick or treat bags! More than 120 British cars from the 1930s and up will be on display during the 35th Annual Central Coast British Car Club Show to be held from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Harbor View Park, Channel Islands Harbor, 3600 Harbor Blvd, Oxnard. There will also be food trucks, vendors, DJ and a raffle.
