Channel Islands Harbor celebrates the 4th of July with a full day of family activities. The Harbor will host a variety of activities throughout the day, ending with the annual Fireworks by the Sea starting at 9 p.m., which can be viewed from anywhere in the Harbor.

Festivities begin with the 18th Annual Channel Islands Harbor 10K Race & 5K Fun Run/Walk along Sunset Lane, Hollywood Beach. Registration and check-in are at 7 a.m., followed by the 10K & 5K races starting together at 8 a.m. 

Children’s Parade: After the race, join Harbor residents and visitors for the 4th of July Children’s Parade. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Albacore Way, travels north up Harbor Blvd. and ends at Cabezone Circle, home to Marine Emporium Landing.

After the race, fun for the whole family begins at Marine Emporium Landing. There will be activities between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., including a crafters’ market, inflatable fun zone, a rock climbing wall and food booths.

At 6 p.m., more than 50 patriotic themed electric boats will cruise around the Harbor in the 4th Annual 4th of July Electric Boat Parade. The parade is being put on by Central Coast Electric Boats and the Channel Islands Yacht Club.

50th Annual Westlake Village 4th of July Parade and Party in the Park


The 50th Annual City of Westlake Village 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4, 2019 will line up at 9:30 AM and proceed down the decorated four block route at 9:45 AM.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their bike, scooter, skateboard, or wagon in patriotic colors and join the City of Westlake Village for this wonderful patriotic celebration! Residents are also welcome to cheer participants on from the side of the parade route.

Awards for Most Patriotic Pooch, Most Patriotic Baby (0-1), Most Patriotic Toddler (2-4), Most Patriotic Elementary (K-5), Most Patriotic Middle School (Grades 6-8), Most Patriotic High (9-12), Most Patriotic Young Adult (age 19-23), Most Patriotic Adult (24-49), Most Patriotic Senior (55 and up) and Most Patriotic Family!

But wait! Before the parade, starting at 8am, Boy Scout Troop #752’s pancake breakfast will take place at the former Westlake Village Medical Center Property at 4415 Lakeview Canyon at 8:00 am. Breakfast tickets are available for $5 per person or $20 per family.

The event begins at the corner of Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Road and marches down the four-block Agoura Road route to Berniece Bennett Park.

Once the parade arrives at the park there will be a U.S. flag retirement ceremony performed by Boy Scout Troup 485, followed by music, inflatables, old-fashioned games and free popsicles and water. The Rotary will be on hand selling hot dogs and snacks, with proceeds benefiting a local charity.

22nd Annual Rods & Roses Car Show in Carpinteria on Saturday, June 29, 2019

The 22nd Annual Rods and Roses classic car show will be held on historical Linden Avenue in Carpinteria on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 10:00am-3:00pm.

Following the car show is the annual Carpinteria Independence Day Parade, starting at 9th Street, at 5pm. The parade route will start at 9th Street, turn left  on Linden Avenue, continue up Linden Avenue, U turn at the corner of Linden and Carpinteria Avenue, and turn on to Linden Avenue to 6th Street.

Mark your calendar, bring the family and experience Carpinteria’s small town charm.

Since its conception, Rods & Roses has raised significant funds for these much needed youth organizations  through the generous donations of local businesses and community members. Rods and Roses also donates booth space on the day of the event to create fundraising and awareness opportunities for a variety of non profit and service groups.

31st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ventura on Saturday, March 16, 2019

Ventura Elks Lodge #1430 presents the 31st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 16 2019 at 10 am on Main Street, Downtown Ventura. This year's theme is Memories of the Past.

The parade starts on East Main Street in front of the San Buenaventura Mission and continues up East Main Street and ends at the corner of North Chestnut Street and East Main Street.  Up to 100 entrants will be accepted into the parade.

53rd Annual Holiday Parade of Lights at Channel Islands Harbor on December 8, 2018

Channel Islands Harbor kicks off the holidays with its 53rd Annual holiday Parade of Lights with day-long activities beginning at 10am and culminating with the parade at 7 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Heroes on Holiday.” Everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of holiday activities and watch festively decorated boats in the parade while listening to carolers sing holiday songs.

Beginning at 10 a.m., families can play in 36 tons of snow falling at the north end of Harbor View Park, off Harbor Blvd. near Marine Emporium Landing, 3600 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard. Santa will also be there to take pictures with families free of charge. There will also be holiday arts and crafts vendors starting at 10 a.m.

At 6 p.m., join Santa Claus and holiday carolers at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Cir, Oxnard, and witness the first-ever “Lighting the Mast at the Maritime Museum.”

The parade starts at 7 p.m. in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Hobie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for a second run. The parade can be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. Boat charters are available for those who want to watch the parade from the water.

Heritage Square Holiday Tours and 10th Annual Gingerbread Fest

The holidays wouldn’t be complete without sweet smelling gingerbread.  Follow the scent to Heritage Square in Downtown Oxnard for the Heritage Square Holiday Tours and 10th Annual Gingerbread Fest.  Costumed docents lead tours of the historic houses exteriors and select interiors with tours offered on the weekends from December 8-30.  The elaborate gingerbread houses will be displayed inside the onsite chapel from December 1-16.  A donation of $5 is suggested.

53rd Annual Parade of Lights

Superheroes take center stage at the 53rd Annual Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 8 in Channel Islands Harbor.  Themed, “Heroes on Holiday” the annual parade begins with pre-festival activities including snowplay for kids, a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus, a local parade, holiday artists’ market, exhibitors, live music, children’s activities and more.  The lighted, colorful boat parade follows at 7 pm and can be viewed from all points along the Harbor’s edge and at surrounding restaurants.

12th Annual Holly Trolley Tours

Get a top side view of Oxnard’s holiday lights in Downtown Oxnard by hopping aboard a grand double-decker during the 12th Annual Holly Trolley Tours.  The tours are offered December 11, 12 and 13 departing between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. from Centennial Plaza.  The tour includes a drive through Oxnard’s National Historic District filled with spectacular displays of holiday lights and décor.  Guests are also treated to a stop at historic Heritage Square for hot cocoa and cookies.  The cost is $12.50 per person.

Christmas Tree Lane

December 9 through 26, 2018. Nightly displays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., F & G Streets between 5th & Palm. Stroll through Ventura County’s largest holiday light display in the Henry T. 42nd Annual Ventura Harbor Holiday Parade of Lights on December 14-15, 2018

Ventura Harbor celebrates the season with its 42nd Annual Holiday Parade of Lights on Friday, December 14th and Saturday, December 15th starting at 6:30 pm.

The two-day fun filled event includes a carnival, seaside shopping and dining followed by the lighted boat parade at 6:30 pm. Parking and admission are free.

Friday, December 14

5pm – Kids Rides & Festivities | 6:30pm – Parade | 8pm – Fireworks (weather pending)

First night of the boat parade! Dine seaside and take a harbor cruise to see the lights or relax on the promenade with a hot cocoa to watch the twinkly boats.
