Downtown Ventura’s Costume Contest & Trick-or-Treating is planned for Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Main Street in Downtown Ventura. Free event to include a costume contest (with prizes) at 3pm on the Main Street Stage followed by trick-or-treating at downtown businesses on Main Street starting at 4pm. There will also be a Best Pet Costume Contest this year.
Gold Coast Veterans Foundation is hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Ventura County Veterans Memorial at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Telephone Road in Ventura on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 11 am to noon.

Kids Seaside Trick or Treat 2025

This free community event features 20+ treat stops at participating shops and restaurants, packed full of sweets (while supplies last), face painting, Halloween themed crafts, professional pumpkin carving, and more.

Before you gobble, gobble, get out and run Ventura County’s fastest 5K on Thanksgiving morning!
Head to the Ventura Auto Center, 6451 Auto Center Drive, Ventura, on Thursday, November 27, 2025 for the annual Ventura Turkey Trot.
This fast and fun 5K starts at 8 a.m. For the 14 and under crowd, there’s the Kids 1K which starts at 9:15 a.m. Registration includes finisher’s shirt, electronic chip timing and post-race food.

The Ponies by the Sea Car Show will be held at Harbor View Park at Channel Islands Harbor, 3600 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 10am to 3pm. The weekend of October 11-12, 2025 will see Scotland in all its color and pageantry come alive on the Fairgrounds as the Seaside Highland Games return to Ventura. The pipes—the Great Highland Bagpipes of Scotland—will signal the call to gather on that one special weekend when all are invited to join in the fun!
Hundreds of pipers and drummers along with all sorts of Scottish/Celtic entertainment will descend on the Ventura County Fairgrounds and the gates are open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm.
A wonderfully entertaining weekend of music, dance, athletics, children’s events, shopping, food and drink! Something for everyone! Seaside is known for bringing tradition to the field—with a twist! The ageless Celtic pastimes are honored but with a big nod to today. The pipes will play the tunes handed down through the ages—but don’t be surprised when you hear new and modern sounds emerging from those ancient reeds!
Massed pipe bands, large men throwing things, Scottish entertainers, clan tents, children's den, British food, Highland dancing, reenactments, darts, Scottish Fiddling Competition, all sorts of stuff!
Admission prices at the gate are $25 for ages 13 to 61 for 1 day; $40 for both days and $20/$35 for 62+ seniors and military. Ages 6 to 12 are $10. Five and under are free.

The Ventura Fire Department Honor Guard invites first responders and community members to join in honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The Memorial Stair Climb will be hosted on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, located at 450 E. Harbor Blvd.
Participants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories, symbolizing the height of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers and paying tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 law enforcement and emergency personnel, 55 military personnel, and the 200+ firefighters who have since passed from 9/11-related illnesses.
The stair climb is not a timed race. Participants are encouraged to climb at their own pace.
“This is more than a memorial, it’s a living act of remembrance,” said Fire Chief David Endaya. “We climb to honor those who ran toward danger and to reflect on their extraordinary courage and sacrifice. This event connects our community in a shared moment of respect, resilience, and gratitude.”
Registration is $50 per climber, limited to 150 participants. The fee helps cover event expenses, with proceeds supporting the Ventura Fire Honor Guard in its mission to honor fallen firefighters through funerals, memorial services, and other ceremonial events. These funds assist with travel and ensure the legacy of those who serve and sacrifice is respectfully upheld.

The Festival offers a full day of fun for all ages with more than 24,000 handmade creations from hundreds of exhibitors, specialty foods, strolling performers, a KidZone, demonstrations, contests, and more. The event also gives back by supporting local charities in the community.

The Harbor announced recently that paid parking will apply from 10am to 8pm Friday through Sunday and holidays at Ventura Harbor Village and neighboring beaches. Parking on Spinnaker Drive will remain free of charge. Under an hour will be free of charge. Up to 4 hours will be $1 per hour, or $10 for a day pass.
