86th Annual Simi Valley Days Parade and Carnival September 12-15, 2019

The Simi Valley Days Parade & Carnival 2019 is September 12th to 15th at the Simi Valley Town Center, north of the 118 freeway between Erringer Road and First Street.

In store is carnival games, contests and prizes, live music, shopping, arts and crafts, great food, family entertainment, car show, rides and much more!

Admission will be $7 for ages 6 to 59, $5 ages 60+. Ages 5 and under are free.

Ride wristbands will be available at the event.

144th Annual Ventura County Fair Planned for July 31 to August 11, 2019

The 144th Annual Ventura County Fair, "A Country Fair with Ocean Air" will take place July 31st to August 11th at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.

The fair features arts, crafts, food, exhibits, displays, demonstrations, farm animals, petting zoo, carnival rides, games and entertainment. More information at www.VenturaCountyFair.org.

General Admission Prices in 2019:  Adults (13 to 64) $12.00, Children and Seniors 65+ $9.00.

Opens at 11am every day; early birds on Tuesday, August 6th, allowed in at 10am. Carnival Midway opens at noon daily. Fair closes at 11pm daily. Carnival closes between 11pm and midnight.

17th Annual Summer Jazz Concert Series at Gardens of the World Thousand Oaks in August

The 17th Annual Summer Jazz Concert Series at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Boulevard will take place on Sundays once again this year from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. August 4th through 25th, 2019.

2019 Heritage Square Summer Concert Series on Friday Nights, June 21 to August 30

Oxnard's Heritage Square Summer Concert Series returns in 2019 for another 12 week run, from June 21 through August 30 (except July 26). Concerts start at 6pm and end at 8:30pm, with a half hour break at 7pm.

The concerts offer entertainment to suit every musical preference - styles range from Reggae to Big Band and from Latin Jazz to Rock.

There is a limit of two tickets per person, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations will be accepted. Ticket sales begin on-site at 5 p.m. in the main plaza on the day of the event. There will be a total of 80 individual seats in the main plaza for sale each night. Tickets are expected to sell out, so concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to make their purchase.

Limited lawn seating is free. Heritage Square is at 715 South A Street, Oxnard.

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, coordinated by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, The City of Thousand Oaks and other local sponsors, takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. During the warmer months concerts are at our home, the “Dancing Oak Ranch,” nestled in a quiet and beautiful canyon 3/4 of a mile off HWY 150 halfway between Carpinteria and Lake Casitas at 4585 Casitas Pass Road, Ventura. These shows are preceded by an optional potluck picnic, so if you can come early, bring a dish to share (B-Y-O-B) and join us for a picnic with friends and the musicians. You should also bring a low back deck chair, a blanket and a jacket plus bring a small flashlight to help find your vehicle after the show. There will usually be a bonfire and you can also bring friendly, well behaved dogs on a leash.

2019 City of Agoura Hills Summer Concerts in the Park - June through August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services and The Acorn Newspapers are pleased to announce the 2019 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and (except for July 21st) are held at Chumash Park, located at 5550 Medea Valley Dr. in Agoura Hills.  Concerts are free to the public. The concert on July 21st will take place at the Agoura High School PAEC, 28545 Driver Avenue.
