17th Annual Summer Jazz Concert Series at Gardens of the World Thousand Oaks in August

The 17th Annual Summer Jazz Concert Series at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Boulevard will take place on Sundays once again this year from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. August 4th through 25th, 2019.

The Lineup:

August 4th: Barbara Morrison - Queen of the Blues

August 11th: Freddy Lopez and the Vibe Tribe - Featuring the blues and gospel legend, Tata Vega

August 18th: The Carl Verheyen Band - World class guitar virtuoso and singer.

August 25th: Darrell Leonard’s Line Up - The best horn blowers meet the best rhythm players.

Parking available on Thousand Oaks Blvd. and may be available at the Civic Arts Plaza (fee may apply). Get there EARLY for best seats! This is a POPULAR series!

Lawn seating, please bring lawn chairs/blankets for your comfort. Please remember: no pets, smoking, alcohol or glassware allowed.

2019 Heritage Square Summer Concert Series on Friday Nights, June 21 to August 30

Oxnard's Heritage Square Summer Concert Series returns in 2019 for another 12 week run, from June 21 through August 30 (except July 26). Concerts start at 6pm and end at 8:30pm, with a half hour break at 7pm.

The concerts offer entertainment to suit every musical preference - styles range from Reggae to Big Band and from Latin Jazz to Rock.

There is a limit of two tickets per person, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations will be accepted. Ticket sales begin on-site at 5 p.m. in the main plaza on the day of the event. There will be a total of 80 individual seats in the main plaza for sale each night. Tickets are expected to sell out, so concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to make their purchase.

Table sales begin May 1. Each table seats six guests. To reserve a table, call (805) 483-7960 or email heritagesquare@aol.com.

Limited lawn seating is free. Heritage Square is at 715 South A Street, Oxnard.

2019 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular and Other Fun Events in Thousand Oaks

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, coordinated by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, The City of Thousand Oaks and other local sponsors, takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., with a great view from the Janss Marketplace and The Oaks mall parking lots and surrounding areas!  Information: (805) 495-6471. Patriotic music simulcast by KHAY 100.7.

2019 Free Summer Concerts at the Thousand Oaks Library - June through August

The Thousand Oaks Library is excited to host a Summer Concert Series. A variety of musical styles will be highlighted, from folk, to classical, to world music.

  • July 14: Kátia Moraes and Brazilian Hearts - Brazilian singer Kátia Moraes is an absolute dynamo on stage. Kátia’s voice can be powerful and heartfelt, coy and compelling, expansive or intimate. The energy, the charisma, the sheer joy of Brazilian music just fills a space. Her band features Nando Duarte, Ted Falcon and Clarice Cast.   • July 28: Westlake Village Quartet - Dianne Ramon is a solo violin and concertmaster. This innovative approach to performing adds a new player to each piece of music. The first piece starts with solo violin, the second piece a duo, the third piece a string trio, until the finale ending with a group of about 7-8 string players. The Westlake Village Orchestra is a dedicated group of local music professionals with a common goal of providing exposure to the arts.   • August 4: Marc Berger - Marc Berger and Ride bring a well-choreographed mix of deep country folk songs with touches of bluegrass, roots, Americana, a little spicy Cajun, and even a little indie with an effects laced lead acoustic guitar. It’s near impossible to sit through a set without feeling a musical kinship to something in every song.   • August 10: hONEyhoUSe - hONEyhoUSe combines the talents of three very diverse and seasoned artists into one unexpected powerhouse. Consisting of award-winning rhythm and blues/gospel soulstress Hillary Smith, earthy blues/folk singer-songwriter Yvonne Perea, and sweet voiced Mandy Buchanan, “hONEyhoUSe” seamlessly melds blues, soul, folk, and Americana. 2019 City of Agoura Hills Summer Concerts in the Park - June through August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services and The Acorn Newspapers are pleased to announce the 2019 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and (except for July 21st) are held at Chumash Park, located at 5550 Medea Valley Dr. in Agoura Hills.  Concerts are free to the public. The concert on July 21st will take place at the Agoura High School PAEC, 28545 Driver Avenue.
