Organic Soup Kitchen, a decade-old nonprofit, is hosting their 2nd Annual 5k Walk Strong at Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara California on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 8:30 am. The fun walk and run will feature a Finish Line Festival, where participants will enjoy organic foods, juices, and a beer garden. All proceeds will go towards supporting their soup delivery to cancer patients program.

The 5k Walk Strong is Organic Soup Kitchen's benefit walk to raise money for cancer patients and to raise cancer awareness. The event will be a “fun” walk and run, as participants are not required to have bibs.

Create a team with your coworkers, friends, or family and walk strong for the cause. Themed runs and costumes are not required, but are optional. There will be an official t-shirt for all registrants. Tier 2 tickets are on sale now.

Organic Soup Kitchen makes organic, non-GMO, plant-based, nutrient-dense soups for populations with compromised immune systems. The program is a weekly soup delivery service for cancer patients and for those with degenerative diseases.

2019 City of Calabasas 4th of July Fireworks, Fun Runs, Splash Party and Pet Show

The City of Calabasas will proudly host the community’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Calabasas High School on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and fireworks show begins at 9:00 p.m. The family-oriented, fun-filled event will feature live music, a family fun zone and the grand fireworks display! 

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at City Hall (100 Civic Center Way) starting June 1 and at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center (23400 Park Sorrento) and Juan Bautista De Anza Park (3701 Lost Hills Road) until July 4. The event usually sells out in advance of July 4th.

The $10 admission price includes parking, entertainment and all activities.  Children under 2 years of age are admitted free. Picnic items permitted (no bottles or open containers).  Food & drinks available for purchase on site: barbecue, sausages, roasted corn, kettle corn, snow cones & more. The Fireworks Spectacular is an alcohol and tobacco free zone. No bottles, pets or umbrellas are permitted.

2019 Pier to Peak Half Marathon in Santa Barbara on Sunday, September 1st

Santa Barbara's challenging Pier to Peak Half-Marathon on Sunday, September 1, 2019 takes you from the famous Santa Barbara Friendship Dolphins Fountain at the edge of Stearns Wharf, past the "Queen of the Missions" and on up an elevation of 3,996 feet to the majestic views at La Cumbre Peak.

Capture the panoramic layout of the city, Santa Barbara Channels and the Channel Islands. You can see where you started from 13.1 miles (sea level) earlier. Shuttle service takes you back to the start.

One of the more challenging races around town. Your quads and calves may be screaming at you, but it'll be worth it for the views at the finish.

8th Annual Seaside Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K in Ventura on Sunday, February 16, 2020

The 8th Annual Seaside Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2020 starting at the Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground (aka Seaside Wilderness Park), 800 West Main Street, Ventura.

Start at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground head north onto the bike path. Bike path leads you onto HWY-1 beachfront bike path.  Runners will stay on the bike path or shoulder (ocean side) along the entire route.  Turn around at the designated turnaround point at approx 6.55 mile mark and back towards the finish line the same way you came out. Marathon course does the out and back twice.

Start time: 7am full marathon, 7:15am half marathon, 7:30am 10K and 7:45am 5K.

The 7th Annual Surfers Point Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K are planned for Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground (aka Seaside Wilderness Park), 800 W. Main St, Ventura. Race start times are: Full marathon 7:00am, half marathon 7:15 am and 5k/10k - 7:30am.

Start at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground head onto the bike path,  bike path leads you onto HWY-1 beachfront bike path.  All runners will stay on the bike path or shoulder (ocean side) of Highway 1 along the route.  turn around at the designated turnaround point at approx 6.55 mile mark and back towards the finish line the same way you came out.  Always stay to the right of the path / road during the entire race.  FULL MARATHON- two loops of this course. The Camarillo Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K are planned for Sunday, August 11, 2019. The event, which will start/finish at Pleasant Valley Fields, will run largely along the Camarillo Bike Path and nearby roads. The day also features a half marathon, 10K and 5K.
