2019 Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks September 28 to November 2

Janss Marketplace announces the 2019 dates and ticket sales launch for the 16-night Reign of Terror Haunted House, one of the top ranked immersive haunt attractions in the U.S.  Now entering its 19th-annual season, Reign of Terror opens on September 28th at Janss Marketplace, located off the 101 Freeway, at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.

The 2019 Reign of Terror contains 115 individual rooms and nine terrifying attractions in over 25,000 sq ft, making it the largest indoor haunted attraction in Southern California. For a preview of the haunted house, visit www.rothauntedhouse.com.

An entirely new section called “Containment” premieres as Reign of Terror’s 9th haunted attraction. All hope is lost for the residents inside Containment, who managed to avoid the horrible mutations of Quarantine, yet are doomed to forever be restrained from the public, until outsiders unwittingly provoke the worst. Also new for 2019 is “Widow’s Den”, an eerie experience that lures a special kind of dreadful anticipation for visitors. New hair-raising special effects, spectacular props and a massive horde of new live action characters add to frightful thrills galore. The existing “Asylum” attraction has also been re-imagined and re-organized as never seen before.

Reign of Terror’s incredible high level of detail, theming and overall fun will be evident again across all the changes made to existing attractions: Miner’s Revenge, Asylum, The Victorian Haunted Mansion, Inbred, Casa Blood, Infected, Quarantine and Fun House. Fan favorites, including “The White-Out Experience”, “Slime Bog”, and the “Vortex Tunnel” return, each creating uniquely disturbing encounters.

Early ticket purchase is recommended.  Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.rothauntedhouse.com.

The 2019 Reign of Terror will be open 7 – 10 p.m. on weekdays and Sundays and 7 – 11 p.m. on Saturdays on the following dates: September 28, October 4-5, 11-13, 18-20, 24-27, 30, 31 and November 2**.

Ticket prices range from $17 to $25 for general admission and $30 to $40 for express entry admission to avoid long wait in lines, particularly on weekends.  On Reign of Terror dates, the ticket office will also be open starting at 6:30 p.m.  Anyone in line for entrance prior to closing time each night is guaranteed entrance.

Reign of Terror is an intense scare experience which can still be enjoyed by all ages. For families with younger children, the Reign of Terror Lights On tours will be offered two Saturday afternoons, October 19 and October 26 from 1 - 4 p.m.  Admission for the Lights On tour is $5 . Parents free with kids under 12.

Reign of Terror succeeds in providing more than a good scare by giving back to the community. Each year, through Janss Marketplace generosity in providing the rent-free 25,000 square feet of indoor space above Gold’s Gym, the haunted house donates proceeds from entrance fees to the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

The annual donations benefit the District's Thousand Oaks Teen Center, Young Artists Ensemble programs and the Conejo Theatre for Everyone, which provides special needs youth the opportunity to perform on stage.

For more information about Reign of Terror visit www.ROTHauntedHouse.com.

** Special Event: 'Lights OUT' on Saturday, November 2nd Only! The 'Lights OUT' special event has visitors walk through our entire 25,000 square foot Haunted House with all the show lights turned off, in total darkness. This event is best enjoyed by visitors who have already walked through the standard Reign of Terror haunt experience during regular nights, when all show lighting and special effects are turned on. We strongly recommend you attend Lights OUT as your special, end of Halloween season bonus visit, so you get a full sense of how unique this night truly is. For Lights OUT, your group will given one glow stick to light your way as you make your way through all 115 haunted rooms and 9 attractions, in total darkness, and encounter all characters, props and sound effects as usual.
