57th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade and Holiday Carnival on Saturday, December 14, 2019

The 57th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, starting at Las Posas and Temple Avenue, the parade travels west on Las Posas and then takes a left on Carmen Drive.  The parade will end at the Camarillo Community Center at 1605 E. Burnley Street.  The parade features floats, bands, autos and other fun stuff!  Theme of the 2019 event is "A Cosmic Christmas."

Also taking place this day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is Santa's Village Holiday Carnival at Community Center Park! Carnival games, inflatable attractions, live entertainment, holiday shopping, food vendors and more will be on hand. Visits with Santa Claus too but of course!

Santa to the Sea Half Marathon and 5K in Oxnard on Sunday, December 8, 2019

The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon and 5K is Sunday, December 8, 2019. The half marathon begins at the giant Santa located at 2801 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard and ends at Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. In addition to the popular half marathon and 5K, there is a 2-person relay and a kids 1K run.

The half-marathon’s fast and flat course goes through the strawberry fields in Oxnard and a new business park before heading to downtown

A portion of registration fees funds the Santa to the Sea Scholarship Fund.

The Bethlehem Experience in Westlake Village on December 14-15, 2018

The Bethlehem Experience is returning in 2018 on Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church Westlake Village. Drive through the First Christmas Eve!

For two magical nights, Bethlehem comes to Westlake Village as the congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church (with support from Moorpark Presbyterian Church) transforms their church grounds into The Bethlehem Experience, an amazingly lifelike recreation of the 1st century village. Incredible sets, theatrical lighting, a wonderful collection of props, and over 100 members of the congregation in period costumes transport visitors back in time.

Visitors will drive past the Magi camped on the outskirts of the village, shepherds watching their sheep, Centurions and tax collectors at the gates to Bethlehem, villagers in the marketplace selling first century goods, the Inn that turned away Mary and Joseph and, of course, the Nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, angels and baby Jesus.

53rd Annual Holiday Parade of Lights at Channel Islands Harbor on December 8, 2018

Channel Islands Harbor kicks off the holidays with its 53rd Annual holiday Parade of Lights with day-long activities beginning at 10am and culminating with the parade at 7 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Heroes on Holiday.” Everyone is invited to enjoy a full day of holiday activities and watch festively decorated boats in the parade while listening to carolers sing holiday songs.

Beginning at 10 a.m., families can play in 36 tons of snow falling at the north end of Harbor View Park, off Harbor Blvd. near Marine Emporium Landing, 3600 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard. Santa will also be there to take pictures with families free of charge. There will also be holiday arts and crafts vendors starting at 10 a.m.

At 6 p.m., join Santa Claus and holiday carolers at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Cir, Oxnard, and witness the first-ever “Lighting the Mast at the Maritime Museum.”

The parade starts at 7 p.m. in front of Peninsula Park and heads to the Main Channel, turns at Hobie Beach, loops in front of the launch ramp then heads back to Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and repeats the route for a second run. The parade can be viewed from parks and walkways that line the route as well as from most Harbor restaurants. Boat charters are available for those who want to watch the parade from the water.
