4th of July Fireworks Spectacular Event at Janss Marketplace on Friday, July 4, 2025

The public is invited to the best FREE Conejo Valley July 4th community celebration and fireworks viewing at Janss Marketplace. The event, which begins at 5 p.m., features live music, children’s entertainment, and food booths. The patriotic holiday celebration finale fireworks at 9 p.m. are presented by the Conejo Recreation and Park District and City of Thousand Oaks.

Entry is free to the July 4th event activities and fireworks viewing area on the rooftop at Janss Marketplace, located at 275 North Moorpark Road East in Thousand Oaks. Bring folding chairs and arrive early to ensure access to the shopping center’s rooftop event area.

TWO NEW TICKET OPTIONS THIS YEAR in addition to free general admission:

  • Free Admission (as in prior years) - wristband and rooftop access at 5pm; wristband pickup at fountain area

  • $10 (plus fees) Early Bird Access - wristband access at 3pm at the fountain area, 4pm access to rooftop deck, kids four and under are free

  • $40 (plus fees) Reserved Ticket - wristband access at 3pm in the fountain area, 4pm access to rooftop deck, access to reserved area, catering, high-top tables, space for lawn chairs and blankets; kids 4 and under free

Wheels in Motion Event in Simi Valley on Sunday, August 24, 2025

Wheels In Motion is a free event hosted by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District that will include a youth power wheels race, a classic car show and a touch-a-truck exhibit with vehicles from the Simi Valley Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, RSRPD and Ventura County Air Ops.

Children 12 years of age and under are encouraged to participate in the Power Wheels race event. Racers will be divided into categories and trophies will be awarded to the winners of each race. Registration is required and is open until August 21st. Helmets are required for all participants and modified power.

Free Clinic of Simi Valley Fredrick Michael Gibson 5K/10K & Half Marathon Walk/Run on Sunday, October 12, 2025

The Free Clinic of Simi Valley, in partnership with Simi Valley Hospital, presents the Fredrick Michael Gibson 5K/10K & Half Marathon Walk/Run for Depression Awareness and Kids’ 1K Fun Run at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley (near the tennis courts at Erringer and Royal). Event will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 7 am (Half Marathon), 8:15 am (5K/10K) and 9:30 am (Kids’ Run).

Funds raised from this event will benefit the Free Clinic of Simi Valley's Counseling Programs. Every day, the Free Clinic is saving lives, improving the health of the community, and reducing health care costs for residents of Simi Valley. The Clinic does this through preventing visits to hospital emergency departments, which are costly and provide no continuity of care.

Spring "Conejo" Hunt at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Newbury Park on Saturday, April 19, 2025

Spring “Conejo & Easter” Hunt & Festival on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1-4PM.

Hop on over to the Stagecoach Inn Museum and bring the kids and grandchildren to hunt for “conejos,” while the whole family enjoys exploring historic structures and interacting with costumed docents. A map is included with admission for marking bunny sightings to be turned in for a prize in this frolicking outdoor hunt around the beautiful museum grounds.

Our Conejo Hunt this year will send “kids” of all ages hunting for several numbered metal art “Conejos” made by blacksmith Bobby Mensinger and there will be new baby animals to look for this Spring to add to the fun... ducklings, chicks, and of course, baby bunnies.

Have your picture taken with our resident Easter Bunny and we’ll have crafts and “bunny” sack races and frolicking about to the sweet sounds of a local live band.

2025 Conejo Valley Parade Planned for Sunday, May 18, 2025

The 2025 Conejo Valley Parade is planned for Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 9am on Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. The parade will include floats, vintage cars, horses, and other participants. The parade is organized by the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise and Fargo’s Angels.

The parade will start at the corner of Duesenberg Drive and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, heading west and ending Conejo School Road. The route is approximately one mile long.

Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at The Calabasas Civic Center on Monday, December 30, 2024

The Commons at Calabasas will host its annual Menorah Lighting Celebration with Calabasas Shul on December 30, 2024 at 6:30pm adjacent to The Commons at the Calabasas Civic Center Plaza, 100 Civic Center Way.

The evening will consist of live musical entertainment, family-friendly activities, Chanukah treats and the lighting of the menorah, concluding with a dazzling fireworks show. The event is free and open to the public.
