Tiny Porch Concerts Summer Series May through August at Peter Strauss Ranch in Agoura

The Tiny Porch Concert Summer Music Series is four outdoor concerts held every summer at the iconic Peter Strauss Ranch Theatre in Agoura Hills. There is one show per month, starting in May on Mother’s Day. This series is a must for any music lover that appreciates quality, original live music where artists travel from all over the country to perform.

The shows not only entertain, they also educate our audience about the park, its plants and wildlife. Peter Strauss Ranch is a unique theatre with a rich history of entertaining. Our community plans to keep it that way!

If you like the series and want to support but are not a sponsor or VIP donor, you can still help. There are donation boxes at every show, or you can donate by clicking on the “Donate” button at the bottom of the home page. Organizers are always looking for volunteers to help with each production. Tiny Porch Concerts is a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to the artists and the local National Parks that hold our concerts. All proceeds are donated to the Santa Monica Mountains Fund.

Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, March 22, 2026

The Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Cal Lutheran University Sports Complex in Thousand Oaks.  CROP Walks help raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as for for local hunger related charities. 

When CROP began in 1947 (under the wing of Church World Service, which was founded in 1946), CROP was an acronym for the Christian Rural Overseas Program. Its primary mission was to help Midwest farm families to share their grain with hungry neighbors in post-World War II Europe and Asia.

The CROP Hunger Walk is 4 miles through the community near CLU. There will also be a 20 minute campus stroll; a guided tour of the CLU campus. Registration is from 12-1:00 PM and the walk begins at 1pm. Registration is free; donations accepted. Spring Spectacular at America's Teaching Zoo in Moorpark March 21-22, 28-29, 2026

Spring Spectacular is The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College’s largest fundraising event of the year, with entertaining animal meet and greets all day.

Spring Spectacular 2026 will take place the weekends of March 21-22 and 28-29 from 10 am to 5 pm. Event to feature two new scripted shows, discovery stations, Rajah’s Retreat, Ira’s Kingdom, and more.

Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors. Ages 2 and under free of charge.

40th Annual California Strawberry Festival at the Ventura County Fairgrounds May 16-17, 2026

The 40th Annual California Strawberry Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 2026 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura). Festivalgoers can indulge in strawberry treats from over 50 food and beverage booths. Strawberry-themed nachos, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry kabobs, popcorn, and margaritas are just a few of the choices. The festival also features 150 artists and crafters, a Strawberryland for kids, live entertainment on three stages, carnival rides, and a "build-your-own" strawberry shortcake experience.

Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days. General admission is $15, active military with ID and family and seniors 62 and over, $10, youth ages 5 to 12, $8 and children 4 and under are free. Limited parking onsite ($30). Visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle service nearby or take advantage of the Ventura Amtrak Station across the street. The inaugural Lake Piru Power Run 5K/1K Fun Run is planned for Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 4780 Piru Cyn Road. 1K starts at 10 AM. 5K at 11 AM. Vendors and food trucks on hand before/after the race.
