Wild and Scenic Film Festival in Ventura on Saturday, August 23, 2025

Ventura Land Trust’s annual benefit, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, returns on Saturday, August 23, 2025 to the expansive lawn of the Ventura County Credit Union headquarters, 2575 Vista Del Mar Drive, Ventura. The film festival features nearly two hours of environmental and activism films along with live music, food trucks, drinks, raffle, auction, kids’ activities and more.

A family-friendly event, participants are encouraged to spread out on chairs and blankets. Doors open at 5 pm, and films begin around 7:30 pm as the sky darkens.

A general admission ticket is $40, $5 children and $10 for teens (13-17), plus processing fees. VIP tickets, which include special gift items and admission to the Ventura Vibe VIP Lounge, are $125 plus fees. Tickets and more information at www.venturalandtrust.org/wild-scenic-film-festival.

The Calabasas Classic 5K Run/Walk for the Heroes of Childhood Cancer on Sunday, September 28, 2025

The Kevin Cordasco Foundation and the City of Calabasas present The 2nd Annual Calabasas Classic 5K Run/Walk for the Heroes of Childhood Cancer on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Calabasas Civic Center. 2025 Holly Jolly Half Marathon, 5K and 10K in Camarillo on Sunday, December 21st

The 13th Annual Holly Jolly Half Marathon, 5K and 10K is planned for Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Pleasant Valley Soccer Fields, 150 Westpark Ct., Camarillo. Start / Finish will be at the Pleasant Valley Fields Park at the Village At The Park Sports Complex. This course is mostly on the flat Camarillo bike path. No auto traffic to worry about on this course.

2025 Music Under the Stars at Olivas Adobe in Ventura, July 12 to September 6

The City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division presents the popular Music Under the Stars series, Saturday nights beginning July 12 through September 6, 2025. 2025 Fireworks Spectacular in Westlake Village on Friday, July 4th

The 10th Anniversary 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular hosted by the City of Westlake Village is planned for Friday, July 4, 2025.

Fireworks will be launched from the Westlake Village Golf Course at approximately 9:10pm.

Gates open at 5pm. No outside alcohol allowed - beer and wine will be available for purchase. Event also to include inflatable jumpers for the kids, putting contest, live music, various food trucks and more.

Offiste parking available at Townsgate and Lakeview Canyon Roads.

25th Annual Pooch Parade Dog Walk and Pet Expo in Ventura on Sunday, August 24, 2025

Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) will host its 25th Annual Pooch Parade on Sunday, August 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join C.A.R.L. and its adoptable rescue dogs for a day of fun in the sun at Ventura Harbor Village, 1583 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura. This year’s theme is “Rescue Roundup” And if you’re inclined, dress yourself and your pup up in bandanas, cowboy hats, and western wear.

Help support C.A.R.L.’s mission, meet some of its adoptable rescue dogs and  enjoy a “biggity” day filled with vendor booths and canine-centered activities.

4th of July Family Parade at Channel Islands Harbor on Friday, July 4, 2025

The Channel Islands Harbor 4th of July Family Parade is back on Friday, July 4, 2025! The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Albacore Way, travels north up Harbor Blvd. and ends at Cabezone Circle, home to Marine Emporium Landing.

2025 Ventura Rotary Fireworks Show and Family Picnic on Friday, July 4th

The Rotary Club of Ventura is hosting its annual Fireworks Show and Family Picnic on Friday, July 4th at the beautiful Ventura College athletic fields.

Gates open at 5 pm with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 pm. The evening also includes live music, food trucks, and a Kids Fun Zone with bounce houses, inflatable attractions and organized games.

Guests may bring a picnic, including food, coolers, non alcoholic drinks (in plastic or aluminum), blankets and soft folding chairs. Small umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed.  Please, no pets and no BBQs/stoves. 

Celebrate America's Birthday at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Newbury Park on Wednesday, July 2, 2025

America's 249th birthday is Friday, July 4, 2025, but the Stagecoach Inn invites you to a fun celebration with children’s old-time games, crafts, music, prizes and more on Wednesday, July 2nd from 1 to 4PM in celebration of Independence Day and the historical opening of the Grand Union Hotel (aka Stagecoach Inn) in July 1876.

Enjoy free ice cream (while supplies last), craft making and live music while cooling your heels exploring the museum complex both indoors and out.

Visit Timber School and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with children rewarded with a prize, and then follow the dusty trail to Pioneer House and children who can identify one or more traditional 4th of July foods will also win something to take home.

Costumed docents will be demonstrating tools, machinery, gadgets and various “modern conveniences” that households and businesses enjoyed in the mid-late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Some of the items that may be demonstrated include a sausage stuffer, butter churner, miniature sewing machine for travel, iron and laundry equipment, woodworking tools and working blacksmith forge.

“Can you Spot” items will be placed around the property for the kids to find.

The Stagecoach Inn Museum welcomes visitors on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 pm. Regular admission is $10 per person; $5 for children 5 to 12. Children under 5 and Conejo Valley Historical Society Members (with membership card) are free.
