Free Comic Book Day Planned for Saturday, May 2, 2026

Free Comic Book Day takes place annually on the first Saturday in May, which is May 2, 2026 this year. On Free Comic Book Day, participating comic book stores around the world give away designated comic books to anyone visiting their stores.

Spring Spectacular at America's Teaching Zoo in Moorpark March 21-22, 28-29, 2026

Spring Spectacular is The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College’s largest fundraising event of the year, with entertaining animal meet and greets all day.

Spring Spectacular 2026 will take place the weekends of March 21-22 and 28-29 from 10 am to 5 pm. Event to feature two new scripted shows, discovery stations, Rajah’s Retreat, Ira’s Kingdom, and more.

Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors. Ages 2 and under free of charge.

63rd Annual Ventura Gem & Mineral Society Gem, Mineral, Fossil & Jewelry Show on March 7-8, 2026

Ventura Gem & Mineral Society presents its 63rd Annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil & Jewelry Show at Seaside Park, Ventura County Fairgrounds. on Saturday, March 7th (10 am to 5 pm) and Sunday, March 8th (10 am to 4 pm).

40th Annual California Strawberry Festival at the Ventura County Fairgrounds May 16-17, 2026

The 40th Annual California Strawberry Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 2026 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura). Festivalgoers can indulge in strawberry treats from over 50 food and beverage booths. Strawberry-themed nachos, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry kabobs, popcorn, and margaritas are just a few of the choices. The festival also features 150 artists and crafters, a Strawberryland for kids, live entertainment on three stages, carnival rides, and a "build-your-own" strawberry shortcake experience.

Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days. General admission is $15, active military with ID and family and seniors 62 and over, $10, youth ages 5 to 12, $8 and children 4 and under are free. Limited parking onsite ($30). Visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle service nearby or take advantage of the Ventura Amtrak Station across the street. Lake Piru Power Run 5K/1K Fun Run on Saturday, March 28, 2026

The inaugural Lake Piru Power Run 5K/1K Fun Run is planned for Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 4780 Piru Cyn Road. 1K starts at 10 AM. 5K at 11 AM. Vendors and food trucks on hand before/after the race. 32nd Anniversary Love Run 5K/10K/1 Mile Run in Westlake Village on June 7, 2026

The Senior Concerns 32nd Anniversary Love Run, presented by Logix, is planned for Sunday, June 7, 2026 in Westlake Village. The races start and finish at 3011 Townsgate Road.

Runners and walkers can participate in a 10K, 5K or one-mile fun run. It is the perfect event for the entire family. Virtual run is also available.

This annual event supports Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels Program, which helps ensure homebound seniors do not go without food. Senior Concerns has been delivering Meals On Wheels since its founding in 1975. Senior Concerns delivers more than 6,000 meals per month to homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Oak Park.

26th Annual Pooch Parade Dog Walk and Pet Expo in Oxnard on Sunday, September 13, 2026

Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) will host its 26th Annual Pooch Parade at a NEW location this year on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the beautiful 'olołkoy Beach Park, 1601 S. Harbor Blvd, in Oxnard.

In addition to a fun walk, the event will feature entertainment, education, a large vendor fair, and the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs looking for a fresh start.

The non-profit C.A.R.L. has rescued thousands of dogs since 1996.

The Bunny Trail Junior Egg Hunt at De Anza Park in Calabasas on Saturday, March 28, 2026

The Bunny Trail Jr. Egg Hunt for kids 8 and under will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9 am to noon at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road in Calabasas.

Travel the De Anza Park trail loop and stop to visit farm animals, hunt for eggs, enjoy craft activities and hop through a bunny obstacle course. Easter Bunny will be on hand for family photos.

Loop takes about 30 minutes. Maximum 15 children per time slot. Start times every 10 minutes from 9am to 11:50am.

$10.00 Per Child. Includes crafts, prizes and candy (stuffed toys available for children under 3)

No walk-ups on event day. Event usually sells out.
