The 2020 City of Oxnard “Physically Challenged and Special Needs” Day at the Park at Oxnard Beach Park, 1601 Harbor Blvd. is planned from 11am to 2pm on May 23, June 20, July 12, Aug 15, Sept 19 and Oct 17.

An afternoon of group & individual activities, arts & crafts and board games. Bounce house and City Corps Train are also present at events. For more information, call (805) 385-8019. Event is free, however, participants must pay for parking.

VIRTUAL EVENT California Honey Harvest Festival in Fillmore June 20-21, 2020

EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE VIRTUALLY THIS YEAR DUE TO PANDEMIC

The 2020 California Honey Harvest Festival is planned for the weekend of June 20-21 at Central Park in Fillmore from 9 am to 5 pm. Activities to include kid zone, live music, petting zoo, exhibits, BBQ tri tip sandwiches, train rides to honey farm tour, antique carousel rides, vendors, honey products and more! Free admission. Train rides “The Honey Bee Express” $28 for adults, $25 seniors, $16 youth, $12 child.for two hour event.

Event to be held at Central Park in downtown Fillmore, where you'll have free time to enjoy lunch on your own and browse the many vendors that are all about bees and honey. Then, step aboard the historic Fillmore & Western Railway for a short train ride to Bennett's Honey farm, located halfway between Fillmore and Piru.

You'll see demonstrations by California bee keepers along the way and take a one-of-a-kind tour at the honey farm, where you'll learn all about honey bees and how the honey is collected and processed.

On September 12th (new date), wine, beer, music, food, fun, and games join together to benefit the BumbleBee Foundation from 3 to 7 p.m. at the SIPurbia Wine & Beer Festival at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas.

SIPurbia is a local festival in the burbs where you can find craft breweries and wineries together, with food trucks and live music from every decade that will get you dancing....all for a great cause!

SIPurbia will feature samples of craft beer and wine. Delicious food, awesome live bands/DJs, lawn games, and a variety of vendors will round out the day. There's something for everyone, so gather your friends and come have fun! All tickets include a souvenir tasting cup, samples of craft beer and wine, and live entertainment all day.

Proceeds will go to help support the BumbleBee Foundation, which assists families of pediatric cancer patients with financial, food, transportation, and other services, as needed. Spiritual guidance and counseling are also provided to comfort families through very trying times often experienced during their children’s therapy.

CANCELLED 2020 Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Fundraiser in Oxnard on Saturday, June 6th

The Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Hosted By Oxnard Fire Explorer Post 9244 is planned for Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Topa Financial Plaza Towers, 300 East Esplanade Drive, Oxnard. Check in starts at 9 am. Start by running up then back down the stairs in the 14-story City National Bank tower. Head out and cross the parking lot through a series of obstacles (obstacles are optional). This course will lead you to the larger Morgan Stanley tower. Enter the north stairs then race up 22 flights. Water will be available every seven floors and on the rooftop. Exit to the roof, cross the finish line, then take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view and to revel in your run.

50 floors, 1,089 stairs, 500 feet!

Post race, join your family and friends at Public Safety Day. Demos will be ongoing from Fire and Police Departments, K9s and other public safety teams from the county.  Enjoy music and food with the entire family. Food trucks on hand until 3pm.

2020 XTERRA Malibu Creek Trail Challenge in Calabasas on Sunday, June 28th

The XTERRA Malibu Creek Trail Challenge takes place at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas on Sunday, June 28, 2020 (postponed from May 16th) with a 21K, 6K and 1 Mile Kids Trail Run  The 21k goes up Bulldog, with amazing scenery in Malibu. The 6k is a great introductory trail run with single track and fire road trails.

All participants get a great race t-shirt, finisher medal, hot breakfast, coffee and a raffle ticket.

Petersen Automotive Museum Offers Free Digital Vault Tours During COVID-19 Closure

While temporarily closed until further notice, the museum will offer hour-long digital tours of the Vault presented by Hagerty® beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020

For enthusiasts looking for digital entertainment during this time, the Petersen Automotive Museum will stream Vault tours for free during its temporary closure. Led by Collection Manager Dana Williamson, the hour-long digital tour will provide rare access to never-before-seen vehicles from the Vault presented by Hagerty®. Each live stream session is themed. Come join us for the 9th Annual Mom's Day Run to benefit The VHL Alliance, raising money and awareness for cancer research and patient services.

VIRTUAL RUN/WALK - What does that mean? Once you register, we would mail your bib, medal, prepaid tee's. And you would run or walk in your neighborhood, your favorite path or trail or even on your treadmill. You can run with family or friends, or even your pooch, you can run on Friday, Saturday or Sunday or even Wednesday night. You can run/walk virtually anywhere at any time, before May 17th. You might challenge a friend or family member from out of state to run/walk with you will recording it LIVE. Once you've finished, you would post your time, location and photo (optional) of your Run/Walk and this would be posted on our Mom's Day Run Facebook Page. EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS SITUATION

It’s time once again to have fun enjoying and reliving the days of yesteryear. There will be hands-on activities for children of all ages, such as grinding grain, making butter and tortillas, braiding rugs, quilting, spinning and weaving demonstrations, making string toys and yarn dolls, and panning for gold. People will be dressed in period costumes, including a Civil War soldier. A fun time for the whole family! The event is open to the public without charge.

Living History Day is planned for Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 1 – 4 PM at the PVHS Museum and Botanical Garden, 720 Las Posas Road, Camarillo and is open to the public without charge.
