2026 Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Concerts in the Park - May through September

The 2021 concert series will NOT look like this concert a couple years ago. This year’s concert series will be socially distanced and will require advance ticket purchases.

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics, then sit back and relax to the sounds of summer! The Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Concerts in the Park is back again in 2026.

Jackets or sweaters are recommended as the weather often cools during the latter part of the event. Concert-goers are asked to leave pets at home. Concerts are FREE and open to the public. A variety of food trucks and dessert trucks will be on site.

Location: Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks
(off Gainsborough Road, at the intersection of Dover and Hendrix Avenues)

Time: All concerts begin promptly at 5:00pm and conclude at 7:00pm. Parking is offsite only; onsite parking is limited and reserved for cars with handicap placards.

29th Annual Oxnard Multicultural Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026

The 29th Annual Oxnard Multicultural Festival is presented by the City of Oxnard's Community Relations Commission.

The festival is held annually on the first Saturday of October. The festival celebrates the rich cultural diversity of its residents and the city’s history. People of every culture come together to learn and discover their shared values in an atmosphere that honors all.

The festival offers a variety of performing groups, live music, food trucks, exhibitors, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the entire family. Admission is always free.   The 2025 event is Saturday, October 3rd from 10am to 4pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard.

2026 Gold Coast Gem Show at Ventura County Fairgrounds on June 6-7

The Gold Coast Gem Show is planned for Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, 2026 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard, Ventura. Free admission. Hours 10am to 5pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Event to feature gems, minerals, fossils, rocks, jewelry, beads, lapidary supplies, demonstrations, kids’ activities, silent auctions and gold panning. More information at goldcoastgemshow.com.

Redbird’s 2026 Children of Many Colors Native American Powwow June 20-21 in Oxnard

Redbird's Children of Many Colors Native American Powwow is a Native American cultural celebration encompassing tribal people from throughout the western hemisphere.

Native American singing, dancing, drumming, arts, crafts and food.  An authentic cultural experience and a celebration of cultural perseverance and continuity.  Public is welcome. This is a family friendly event.  The powwow takes place outdoors on the field in front of the gymnasium. There is limited covered visitor seating on the dance arena.  Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs and canopies which can be set up in the open space between the dance arena and the vendors.

Please no drugs, alcohol, smoking, vaping, fireworks or firearms.  Free parking and free admission.  The powwow is hosted by Redbird, a 501(c)(3) non profit association, and sponsored by Edison International, The Moon Family Trust, Gary Pickett, Oxnard College, and the County of Ventura Department of Arts and Culture.

City of Agoura Hills Public Safety Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services hosts its annual Public Safety Day event on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Fire Station #89, located at 29575 Canwood St. in Agoura Hills.

This free, family-friendly event will feature a helicopter flyover (weather permitting), hands-on CPR training, fire apparatus displays, and the opportunity to explore an open ambulance. Representatives from the Lost Hills Sheriff Station and local CERT teams will also be on site to provide valuable safety information and answer questions from the community.

Guests can enjoy free hot dogs while supplies last, along with a lively Kid Zone featuring a DJ, fun attractions, and activities for children of all ages. Whether you’re interested in learning important safety skills or simply spending a fun day with family and neighbors, Public Safety Day offers something for everyone.

Touch-A-Truck at Thousand Oaks Community Park on Saturday, June 20, 2026

The Conejo Recreation & Park District’s 2026 Touch-A-Truck will be held on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00am-2:00pm at Thousand Oaks Community Park, 2525 N. Moorpark Rd. in Thousand Oaks.

This popular event allows kids to have fun kicking the tires, honking the horns, and climbing up into the driver’s seat of their favorite trucks and construction vehicles such as a garbage truck, an Army truck, tractor, excavator, dump truck, school bus, fire engine, ambulance, bulldozer, police cruiser, SWAT vehicle, K-9 and search and rescue vehicles, motorcycles, and more.

In addition to dozens of trucks and vehicles of all shapes and sizes, there will be fun activities, including arts and crafts, a kids’ construction zone, jolly jumps, and a motorized train ride. The parking lot fills up quickly, so be prepared to park at the Thousand Oaks High School parking lot. Admission is free for all ages. For information, visit www.crpd.org/truck

2026 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular and Other Fun Events in Thousand Oaks

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, coordinated by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, The City of Thousand Oaks and other local sponsors, takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., with a great view from Janss Marketplace and The Oaks mall parking lots and surrounding areas!  Patriotic music simulcast by KHAY 100.7 FM.

Other 4th of July activities in Thousand Oaks include the following:

2026 City of Westlake Village TGIF and Saturday Concert Series This Summer

Summer evenings in Westlake Village provide the perfect backdrop for a great entertainment series. The annual TGIF Westlake Village series offers families a series of free performances at the Westlake Village Civic Center, 31200 Oak Crest Drive. Short Dawgs in Da House Dog Racing Festival at Ventura Harbor Village on Saturday, April 18, 2026

Dozens of dachshunds, corgis, and small dogs will race along the Ventura Harbor waterfront as the viral pup Rowdy Dachshund (www.instagram.com/rowdy_dachshund), a professional skateboarding dog and champion racer with over 304,000 Instagram followers, hosts “Short Dawgs in Da House” for the first time ever.

The dog-chella event of the year will take place on the Ventura Harbor Village Main Lawn on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Completely free to attend and participate, guests will experience a full day of small dog races and family-friendly entertainment at the waterfront, including:

  • Dachshund, corgi, and small dog races

  • Best trick and best outfit contests

  • Harbor-wide scavenger hunt

  • Live music and photo ops

  • Community vendor village featuring pet accessories and treats

  • Dog-friendly boat rentals in the harbor

Short Dawgs in Da House will bring together over 15 dog-friendly vendors in the Community Vendor Village. Live music by “Blake Quake” and MC “John Wick” will keep the party going.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs, get ready to meet other dog lovers, support local vendors, participate in contests, and enjoy a festival built just for them and their pup.

Rowdy is a longtime Ventura fan, promoting the new Westpark Skatepark in a social media video garnering over 216,000 views, and showcasing the pet-friendly boat rentals at the Ventura Harbor in a video that received over 117,000 views.

2026 Aloha Beach Festival in Ventura on September 5-6

The Aloha Beach Festival is back in 2026 after a year off in 2025 at Promenade Park/Surfer's Point, west of the Ventura Pier, the weekend of September 5-6. The festival features frisbee dogs, C Street Surf Contest, Hawaiian dancing, live bands, vendors, food, beer garden and more. Event proceeds to benefit the Flow Surf Academy.
