49th Annual Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off, Car Show and Craft Brew Festival on Sunday, May 3, 2026

Mark your calendars for the 49th Annual Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off, Car Show & Craft Brew Festival on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Held from noon – 5pm (11:00 am entry for VIP tickets), this family friendly extravaganza will take place at Conejo Creek Park North at Janss Rd & Hwy 23 in Thousand Oaks.

There will be over 40 chili tasting booths – and included with your general admission is free unlimited chili tasting. Returning again is the popular Craft Brew Festival – an event within an event – with a multitude of participating breweries! There will also be a Classic & Custom Car Show in several style and vintage categories and live music on two stages. Also on hand will be over a dozen food trucks and beverage booths and a free kids’ fun zone.

The Chili Cook-Off is proudly presented by the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, with 100% of the net proceeds going to local charities. Tickets will be available in advance, along with more information at www.chili-cook-off.com

Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, March 22, 2026

The Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Cal Lutheran University Sports Complex in Thousand Oaks.  CROP Walks help raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as for for local hunger related charities. 

When CROP began in 1947 (under the wing of Church World Service, which was founded in 1946), CROP was an acronym for the Christian Rural Overseas Program. Its primary mission was to help Midwest farm families to share their grain with hungry neighbors in post-World War II Europe and Asia.

The CROP Hunger Walk is 4 miles through the community near CLU. There will also be a 20 minute campus stroll; a guided tour of the CLU campus. Registration is from 12-1:00 PM and the walk begins at 1pm. Registration is free; donations accepted. Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station Open House in Agoura Hills on Saturday, May 2, 2026

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department invites the community to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station Open House on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:00 AM to noon.. Bring the entire family to learn more about the Sheriff's Department through interesting displays and interactive activities. There will also be food vendors, mini horses, community partners on hand, jail tours, and more.

Spring Spectacular at America's Teaching Zoo in Moorpark March 21-22, 28-29, 2026

Spring Spectacular is The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College’s largest fundraising event of the year, with entertaining animal meet and greets all day.

Spring Spectacular 2026 will take place the weekends of March 21-22 and 28-29 from 10 am to 5 pm. Event to feature two new scripted shows, discovery stations, Rajah’s Retreat, Ira’s Kingdom, and more.

Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors. Ages 2 and under free of charge.

40th Annual California Strawberry Festival at the Ventura County Fairgrounds May 16-17, 2026

The 40th Annual California Strawberry Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 2026 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura). Festivalgoers can indulge in strawberry treats from over 50 food and beverage booths. Strawberry-themed nachos, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry kabobs, popcorn, and margaritas are just a few of the choices. The festival also features 150 artists and crafters, a Strawberryland for kids, live entertainment on three stages, carnival rides, and a "build-your-own" strawberry shortcake experience.

Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days. General admission is $15, active military with ID and family and seniors 62 and over, $10, youth ages 5 to 12, $8 and children 4 and under are free. Limited parking onsite ($30). Visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle service nearby or take advantage of the Ventura Amtrak Station across the street. Oak Park Egg Scramble Event at Mae Boyar Park on Saturday, April 4, 2026

The Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District Egg Scramble Event is planned for Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Mae Boyar Park, 130 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The egg hunt is for ages 10 and under (BYOB - Bring Your Own Basket):

  •     Ages 2 and under at 9:30 a.m.

  •     Ages 3-5 at 10 a.m.

  •     Ages 6-7 at 10:20 a.m.

  •     Ages 8-10 at 10:40 a.m.

The Conejo Recreation and Park District Annual Flashlight Egg Hunt will take place at multiple neighborhood park locations in the Conejo Valley on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 6-9PM at:

  • Old Meadows Park - 1600 Marview Drive, Thousand Oaks

  • Borchard Community Park - 190 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park

  • Conejo Community Park - 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks

  • Dos Vientos Community Park - 4801 Borchard Road, Newbury Park

  • Thousand Oaks Community Park - 2525 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks

This event is FREE and open to all!

Participants will get to hunt for 10 eggs and turn in for a prize. Don't forget to bring your flashlights and baskets! There will also be crafts and bounce house (except Old Meadows Park).
