41st Annual Ventura Harbor Holiday Parade of Lights on December 15-16

Ventura Harbor celebrates the season with its 41st Annual Holiday Parade of Lights on Friday, December 15th and Saturday, December 17th starting at 6:30 pm. This year's parade will celebrate 100 years of our national parks.

The two-day fun filled event includes a carnival, seaside shopping and dining followed by the lighted boat parade at 6:30 pm. Parking and admission are free.

NOTE: THE FIREWORKS PREVIOUSLY PLANNED FOR THIS EVENT HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BUT THE REST OF THE EVENT IS GOOD TO GO AS OF NOON 12/14.

On Saturday, the 16th stop by early for Winter Wonderland and Holiday Marketplace from 1-5 pm, including faux snowfall every 15 minutes, visits with Mr & Mrs Claus, live reindeer, kids' activities, holiday carnival, carolers and more.

56th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade and Holiday Carnival on Saturday, December 9th CANCELLED DUE TO FIRE

The 56th Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, starting at Las Posas and Temple Avenue, the parade travels west on Las Posas and then takes a left on Carmen Drive.  The parade will end at the Camarillo Community Center at 1605 E. Burnley Street.  The parade features floats, bands, autos and other fun stuff!  Theme of the 2017 event is "A Fairytale Christmas."

Also taking place this day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is Santa's Village Holiday Carnival at Community Center Park, 1605 E. Burnley Street! Carnival Games, Inflatable Attractions, Live Entertainment, Arts & Craft Vendors and Food Vendors will be on hand. Visits with Santa Claus too (after noon).

Ventura County's 32nd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration in Oxnard on January 15, 2018

The 2018 Ventura County Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is Monday, January 16th and will start at 8 a.m. with a gathering at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Downtown Oxnard, followed by a "Freedom March" to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (OPAC), 800 Hobson Way.

Then at the OPAC is the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance program that starts at 9am, featuring Ron Hasson, President of the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP as keynote speaker. Refreshments will be served after the program. Admission $7 online or at the door.

6th Annual Ojai Half Marathon, 5K and 10K on Sunday, April 29, 2018

The 6th Annual Ojai Half Marathon, 5K and 10K is planned for Sunday, April 29, 2018. This is a one loop course along the Ojai bike trail and Lake Casitas.  A rolling hills course that has something for everyone.  Half marathon starts at 8 a.m. at Mira Monte Middle School at 1216 Loma Drive. Many Of Our Participants And Volunteers Have Been Impacted By The Recent Fires In Our Area. Some Are Without Homes And Many Are Still Navigating The Fall Out. Therefore, It Is With Heavy Hearts That We Have Made The Very Difficult Decision To Cancel The 10th Annual Santa To The Sea Race"

The 10th Annual Santa to the Sea Half Marathon and 5K is Sunday, December 10, 2017. The half marathon begins at the giant Santa located at 2801 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard and ends at Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor. The race starts at 8 a.m. In addition to the popular half marathon and 5K, there is a 2-person relay and a kids 1K run.

The half-marathon’s fast and flat course goes through the strawberry fields in Oxnard and a new business park before heading to downtown

Oxnard and the Historic District. The 5K and kids 1K starts and finishes at the Marine Emporium Landing.

Since 2009, the Santa to the Sea series of races has been awarding scholarships to deserving locals. Partially funded by grants from the Gene Haas Foundation and the Oxnard College Foundation, well over $100,000 in scholarship money has been awarded to hundreds of Oxnard College students. And thousands of toys have been collected for kids in need.

A portion of registration fees funds the Santa to the Sea Scholarship Fund.

35th Annual California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard Set For Weekend of May 19-20, 2018

The 35th Anniversary California Strawberry Festival will be held at Strawberry Meadows of College Park, 3250 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20, 2018.

Festivalgoers can taste strawberry treats from dozens of food and drink vendors and take part in strawberry pie eating contests, strawberry relays, strawberry tart tosses and other free contests. An estimated 1.5 million strawberries will be consumed at the festival. The two days also feature a vendor marketplace, live music on two outdoor stages, carnival, cooking demonstrations and kids' rides and entertainment at their own Strawberryland. Since its inception, the California Strawberry Festival has donated over $4.5 million to southern California charitable organizations. Free shuttle service to the festival is available ($10 to park onsite).

General admission is $12, seniors 62+ are $8 and children ages 5-12 are $5. Kids 4 and under are free. Active military and dependents with ID are $8.
