Many Mansions "Bowls of Hope" Event in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, October 12, 2025

Bowls of Hope aims to raise awareness for the need for affordable housing in our community, and to funds for Many Mansions’ programs that serve the formerly homeless, veterans, seniors, and families of very low income. The 2025 Bowls of Hope event will take place at Momentum, 2400 Willow Lane, Thousand Oaks, at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 12th.

Designed to represent a soup kitchen, attendees select a bowl handcrafted by community members and enjoy delicious and comforting food, in community. Experience meaningful & fun family activities: an informative exhibition on the homelessness issue, affordable housing, and Many Mansions; an opportunity to take action and be part of the solution; crafts, games, a raffle, silent auction, and more!

Ventura Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Morning, Thursday, November 27, 2025

Before you gobble, gobble, get out and run Ventura County’s fastest 5K on Thanksgiving morning!

Head to the Ventura Auto Center, 6451 Auto Center Drive, Ventura, on Thursday, November 27, 2025 for the annual Ventura Turkey Trot.

This fast and fun 5K starts at 8 a.m. For the 14 and under crowd, there’s the Kids 1K which starts at 9:15 a.m. Registration includes finisher’s shirt, electronic chip timing and post-race food.

Archaeology Day at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas on Saturday, October 4, 2025

2025 EVENT CANCELED DUE TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the National Park Service, California State Parks, and Western National Parks Association (WNPA) will host Archaeology Day at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center in Calabasas.

The family-friendly event, including parking, is free and is organized to shed light on a discipline that is sometimes overlooked.

All-day activities will include digging up artifacts in an “excavation” box, spear throwing, flint knapping demos, local artifacts on display, replica viewing and much more.

Visitors of all ages will also get a chance to earn a special patch and become junior archaeologists.

The 33rd Annual Thousand Oaks Rotary Street Fair will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Moorpark Road between Hillcrest and Wilbur Road in Thousand Oaks, in between Janss Marketplace and Best Buy. Plenty of parking in the adjacent shopping centers and streets.

The Thousand Oaks Rotary Street Fair continues this great event with over 19,000 expected attendees and over 300 vendor booths.

Ride to the Flags Memorial Charity Motorcycle Ride - Back in 2026

2025 event will not take place due to the Malibu wildfires and logistical challenges they created. Planned to be back in 2026.

Ride to the Flags began in 2008, accompanying the Wave of Flags 9/11 Memorial at Pepperdine University. Although not officially associated with the collegiate memorial - the ride does end at the memorial for a short service. Ride to the Flags is an all volunteer, charity ride that in the past has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars for wounded warriors in need. In 2023 and beyond, the ride supports veteran mental health through the White Heart Foundation’s Guardian Project.

This year's ride will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Check-in from 7:30am to 9:30am at Naval Base Ventura County, followed by a ceremony at 10am. The ride starts at 11am down PCH, ending at Malibu Bluffs Park for a rally.

Howl-O-Ween Event at Mission Oaks Dog Park in Camarillo on Saturday, October 25, 2025

Bring your dog in their scariest, funniest, most original costume – or even do matching costumes with your dog, to Howl-O-Ween at Mission Oaks Park, 5501 Mission Oaks Boulevard, Camarillo (in the off leash area) on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10am to 1pm. Free admission. No registration necessary. Dog costume contest, best trick contest, pet vendors, raffles, other fun doggie activities and food trucks will be on hand (or paw).

Dogs are to be kept on a leash with a leash length not exceeding 6 feet. Owners must follow dog park rules and regulations.

Mission Oaks Dog Park is an off-leash dog park, but for special events such as Howl-O-Ween, leashes are required.

Dogs may be off-leash in the designated area to perform in the best trick contest and must be back on a leash immediately following their trick.

Santa Paula Labor Day Parade, Monday, September 1, 2025

The Santa Paula Labor Day Parade will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025 at 10 AM on Main Street in Santa Paula.

The parade is sponsored by the Santa Paula Labor Day Parade Committee, the Rotary Club of Santa Paula and the City of Santa Paula.

Walking groups with banners, musical groups, floats, workers riding in work-related vehicles, equestrians, and all groups representing a Labor Day theme are invited to participate. The parade starts at 7th and Main Street and ends at the gazebo at Santa Barbara and Mill.
