2025 Camarillo Christmas Parade and Santa's Village on Saturday, December 13th

Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District presents the 63rd Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade and Santa’s Village on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Bring the family to cheer on local bands, equestrian groups, floats, and Santa! The parade starts at Las Posas and Temple Ave. and ends at the Community Center. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Santa's Village is 10am- 2pm at the Community Center, 1605 Burnley St. There will be holiday shopping, food trucks, live music, photos with Santa, and other free activities.

Many Mansions "Bowls of Hope" Event in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, October 12, 2025

Bowls of Hope aims to raise awareness for the need for affordable housing in our community, and to funds for Many Mansions’ programs that serve the formerly homeless, veterans, seniors, and families of very low income. The 2025 Bowls of Hope event will take place at Momentum, 2400 Willow Lane, Thousand Oaks, at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 12th.

Designed to represent a soup kitchen, attendees select a bowl handcrafted by community members and enjoy delicious and comforting food, in community. Experience meaningful & fun family activities: an informative exhibition on the homelessness issue, affordable housing, and Many Mansions; an opportunity to take action and be part of the solution; crafts, games, a raffle, silent auction, and more!

Archaeology Day at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas on Saturday, October 4, 2025

2025 EVENT CANCELED DUE TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the National Park Service, California State Parks, and Western National Parks Association (WNPA) will host Archaeology Day at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center in Calabasas.

The family-friendly event, including parking, is free and is organized to shed light on a discipline that is sometimes overlooked.

All-day activities will include digging up artifacts in an “excavation” box, spear throwing, flint knapping demos, local artifacts on display, replica viewing and much more.

Visitors of all ages will also get a chance to earn a special patch and become junior archaeologists.

4th Annual Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, December 6, 2025

The 4th Annual Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace, which celebrates the warmth and joy of the holiday season--all with a European flair, will take place Saturday, December 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Oaks parking lot (W. Wilbur Rd. and W. Thousand Oaks Blvd.) in Thousand Oaks.

The Rotary Club of Westlake Village presents the community an opportunity to experience a traditional European winter festival with us at Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace. They will immerse themselves in the festive warmth of the holidays as they stroll through 60 artisan shops showcasing their wares, sample an array of authentic fresh European foods and baked goods, and enjoy a warm mug of mulled wine "Gluhwein", Kinderpunsch or specialty crafted brews.

After you’ve strolled through the marketplace, explore the Festive Garden, where you’ll enjoy local live seasonal entertainment and an array of traditional fresh European faire and baked goods. Children of all ages will be enchanted when they visit Kris Kringle’s Village! Capture a magical moment with Kris Kringle and Mrs. Kringle, festive Samantha the Holiday Stiltwalker or hop aboard the Village Train Art Trek. Try face painting and an old world Village Bear Scavenger hunt for all to enjoy. 2025 Ojai Studio Artists Tour Planned for October 10-12

The 2025 Ojai Studio Artists Studio Tour will take place on October 11-13 from 10am to 5pm with more than 70 studios open to public.

More than 70 artists will open their private spaces over the course of the weekend in a tour that features paintings, sculptures, fiber arts, collage, jewelry, glass, prints, mixed media and all manner of artworks, all experienced in a variety of intimate and idiosyncratic spaces by members of a community-based nonprofit devoted to celebrating Ojai arts.

Ticket holders will receive a program and map of participating studios, from backyard wonderlands within walking distance of the town arcade, to stone cabins nestled up Sulphur Mountain.

Tickets for the full weekend are just $20 and provide access to all open studios. Proceeds support this community nonprofit and scholarships for art students at Nordhoff High School, continuing OSA’s mission of fostering the next generation of artists. 8th Annual Haunted Housing Run 5K in Ventura on Sunday, October 26, 2025

The 2025 Haunted Housing Run is planned for Sunday, October 26th at San Buenaventura State Beach.

Haunted Housing Run is a Halloween-themed 5K run/walk in support of the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura (HACSB) Scholarship Program. Each year HACSB awards scholarships to current residents of affordable housing communities owned and/or managed by HACSB who are currently enrolled at a four-year college/university, community college, or vocational school.

Event begins at 8:30am at 901 San Pedro Street, Ventura. Costumes are encouraged!

Little Oaks Kids Club at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks on Thursdays

The Oaks presents the Little Oaks Kids Club, twice a month on Thursdays from 11am to 1pm. The Little Oaks Kids Club is a monthly series of engaging, family-friendly events designed for toddlers and young children. Each free event hosts themed crafts and music to magical storytimes. 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular Event at Janss Marketplace on Friday, July 4, 2025

The public is invited to the best FREE Conejo Valley July 4th community celebration and fireworks viewing at Janss Marketplace. The event, which begins at 5 p.m., features live music, children’s entertainment, and food booths. The patriotic holiday celebration finale fireworks at 9 p.m. are presented by the Conejo Recreation and Park District and City of Thousand Oaks.

Entry is free to the July 4th event activities and fireworks viewing area on the rooftop at Janss Marketplace, located at 275 North Moorpark Road East in Thousand Oaks. Bring folding chairs and arrive early to ensure access to the shopping center’s rooftop event area.

Wheels in Motion Event in Simi Valley on Sunday, August 24, 2025

Wheels In Motion is a free event hosted by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District that will include a youth power wheels race, a classic car show and a touch-a-truck exhibit with vehicles from the Simi Valley Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, RSRPD and Ventura County Air Ops.

Children 12 years of age and under are encouraged to participate in the Power Wheels race event. Racers will be divided into categories and trophies will be awarded to the winners of each race. Registration is required and is open until August 21st. Helmets are required for all participants and modified power.
