Clubhouse_Sherwood.jpg

When the Charles Schwab Cup season’s top 54 players return to Sherwood Country Club from October 25-28 for the Invesco QQQ Championship, the competition won’t be the only thing that fans have to look forward to. Fans can enjoy a host of community-centric events and fan features while they tour the course grounds, including a Community Champions Day, celebrity pro-am groups, food trucks, a craft beer garden and more.

The week kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 25 with a Community Champions Day that features legends from not only PGA TOUR Champions, but also actors like Alfonso Ribeiro, Kunal Nayyar and Kevin Rahm. Fans will also be able to watch household names Caitlyn Jenner and Rick Dees as they compete alongside the pros. Community Champions Day is free for the public to attend and watch the pro-am event where competitors are paired with a PGA TOUR Champions professional, enjoy lunch from on-course concessions.

Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere of Community Champions Day, kids who are on-site Thursday can visit the driving range to take part in the Youth Clinic sponsored by the tournament’s Official Charity Partner, Sherwood Cares Foundation. The clinic is open to children of all ages and will feature golf’s legends giving informative detail about how to improve their swing. While on the range, spectators may also witness a skills challenge – a special drive, chip and putt competition featuring competing charities supported by The First Tee of Los Angeles and the Sherwood Cares Foundation.

Friday through Sunday, fans at the Invesco QQQ Championship will have local, flavorful food options to enjoy during competition rounds thanks to an array of food trucks on site. Located between Nos. 11 and 16, fans can take a break from watching the likes of Bernhard Langer, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Vijay Singh by enjoying local Los Angeles favorites at Baby’s Badass Burgers, Mamma Italy and Ventura BBQ. In addition to the newly offered food trucks, the tournament will also feature a Craft Beer Garden located adjacent to the 9th green. The beer garden is open to the public, age 21 and up, and will feature craft beer from Ten Barrel Brewing Company.
