Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at The Calabasas Civic Center on Monday, December 30, 2024

The Commons at Calabasas will host its annual Menorah Lighting Celebration with Calabasas Shul on December 30, 2024 at 6:30pm adjacent to The Commons at the Calabasas Civic Center Plaza, 100 Civic Center Way.

The evening will consist of live musical entertainment, family-friendly activities, Chanukah treats and the lighting of the menorah, concluding with a dazzling fireworks show. The event is free and open to the public.

We Crawl This Town - So Cal 5K and Beer Mile Relay in Camarillo on August 23, 2025

We Crawl This Town- So Cal 5k and Beer Mile Relay is planned for August 23, 2025 at 3841 Mission Oaks Boulevard, Camarillo at 8 a.m.

Starting with the widely popular beer send off toast (21+ runners only), you will embark on a fast and flat course starting and finishing from Institution Ale Company in Camarillo. Along the way you will run a significant portion of your race on the beautiful bike path over looking the Calleguas Creek before ultimately finishing back at the brewery and joining a beer sampling event and live music.

If running the 5K, be sure to stick around for the beer 1 mile relays where teams go head to head in a one of a kind race format.

2024 Festival of the Trees, Ventura County in Simi Valley on November 21-23

Festival of the Trees, Ventura County is a community event that benefits cancer patients and their families with living expenses in Ventura County. View and bid on beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, shop handmade gifts in the Elf Emporium, and indulge on sweet treats in Frosty’s Sweet Shoppe.

The event takes place at the Simi Valley Town Center on Thursday, November 21 from 4-8pm and Saturday, November 23 from 10am-3pm. Tickets at the door are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 3 to 12, $4 for seniors, and free to ages 3 and under.

On Friday, November 22 from 5-8:30pm is Festival of the Trees Event Night, featuring visits with Santa and his wife, viewing and bidding on trees and wreaths, and more. $20 admission.

Event is at the west end of the Simi Valley Town Center, 1475 Simi Town Center Way.

Art Comes Alive Event at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum on November 9-10, 2024

The Channel Islands Maritime Museum announces the return of its highly anticipated Art Comes Alive event, taking place on November 9 & 10, 2024 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM

At Art Comes Alive, you'll stroll through the museum's world class galleries and meet a colorful cast of characters who have stepped right off the canvas (or boat decks) to share their stories, both real and imagined.

Actors will bring to life characters from the museum's renowned maritime art collection allowing visitors of all ages to interact with historical figures, both real and imagined. Characters like Edward Marple, famed boat model maker or infamous lady pirate, Anne Bonny will be sharing their stories allowing attendees to engage a side of the museum not seen on a traditional docent tour.

In addition, attendees can explore games (with prizes!), take pictures at the themed photo stations, kids can try on the costumes and all can participate in family friendly fun and adventure.
