2018 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix Bicycle Race on July 7 & 8, 2018

On July 7 & 8, 2018, the 805 Criterium Series will bring back the high-speed excitement of road bicycle racing to the streets of Thousand Oaks. The racing will be particularly exciting as it is two days this year, with a Circuit Race on Saturday and a Criterium on Sunday, looking to draw the best racers from all over California and beyond.

There are the showcase Pro Men and Women races, four amateur category races, four Master’s races with some of the best racers in the United States and in the criterium, five separate Juniors categories. We also have free Kids Races on Sunday at 12:25 p.m., so if you have children, please have them participate! Spectating for all events is entirely free! The 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix is fundraising for local charity the Michael P. Nosco Foundation, so please help support this worthy charity.

The 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix Circuit Race with a purse of $4,000 is on a two-mile course with a nice uphill grind on Conejo Center to the finish line and also features a false flat section on Rancho Conejo up to Lawrence Drive. The Criterium is held on a challenging 1.2 mile, three-turn course certain to be prized by racers and spectators alike for excitement and thrills as racers go all out in the uphill finish to claim their share of the $6,000 purse or one of the many exciting primes. The Race offers equal prize money for men and women in the Elite Championship races. The race flyer is here: http://bit.ly/805ThousandOaksGP-Flyer

The start-finish line is near the corner of Conejo Spectrum and Conejo Center Drive. There is parking at the Anthem lot at the corner of Lawrence Drive and Conejo Center and on Saturday parking will be available along Conejo Spectrum. Saturday the racing starts at 9:00 a.m. with the Women’s Pro Race at 3 p.m. and the Men’s Pro Race at 4 p.m. On Sunday the racing starts at 7:00 a.m. with the premier events, the Women’s and Men’s Elite races starting at 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., respectively. See the race flyer for full details and times. Registration is available online and on race day up to 15 minutes before each race. The Kids’ Race starts at 12:25 p.m. but get there by 11:30 a.m. to sign up and get ready. You can sign up for the Kids Race here: http://bit.ly/KidsRaceThousandOaksGP-2018

In addition to the racing action, there is an Expo with fun activities and vendors, such as booths by cycling-related and other local companies, and a beer and wine garden provided by sponsors Sierra Nevada and the Stonehaus from which all proceeds will benefit the Nosco Foundation. A great day for the whole family! A race like this cannot happen without volunteers, so please volunteer TODAY to help at http://bit.ly/805ToGP_Volunteer_SignUp
