According to the National Coffee Association in its Spring 2024 National Coffee Data Trends report, 67% of Americans have had coffee in the past day, compared to 49% in 2004. The greatest increase is among consumers 60+, whose past day consumption increased by 9%. Consumers in the 25 to 59 age groups also saw increases in consumption. 57% of American adults had a specialty coffee in the past week, up 7.5% one year prior.

On that caffeinated note, let’s take a look at what coffee shops we have here in the Conejo Valley, covering Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Oak Park and parts of Calabasas.

Independent Coffee Shops

Bonibi Coffee is located in The Landing in Westlake Village at 32123 Lindero Canyon Road. They offer Stumptown specialty coffee, multiple origin coffee blend with signature notes of citrus and dark chocolate. Five07 Coffee Bar and Eatery is located near Vons in the Oakbrook Shopping Center at 2036 E Avenida de los Árboles, Thousand Oaks. Five07 offers a wide array of drinks and food items, such as crepes, toasts, baked goods and more.. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Live music too. Five07 Coffee Bar opened at 2955 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks (between Bad Ass Street Tacos and Oak and Iron), on December 29, 2023. Hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon-Fri and 7am-2pm Sat/Sun (as of July 2026). This location is geared towards takeout, with limited seating and a standing bar. www.thefive07.com

Hibye Coffee opened January 10, 2025 at The Shoppes at Westlake Village at 30770 Russell Ranch Road, Suite D, near Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. hibyecoffeeco.com

Honey Cup Coffeehouse & Creamery is located at 360 Via Las Brisas in the Dos Vientos section of Newbury Park. Honey Cup serves coffee, tea, and smoothies. Honey Cup Coffeehouse & Patisserie opened on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 5755 Las Virgenes Road, Suite B in Calabasas, next to Inner Power Yoga Studio, which is about a mile north of the 101.

Laidrey Coffee Roasters is open daily from 7am to 5pm (as of July 2026) at the Shoppes at Kanan Village in Agoura Hills (across from IHOP) at 5021 Kanan Road. They are known for their specialty, organic, small-batch roasted coffee, pastries, and curated coffee products. laidrey.com

Laidrey Coffee Roasters announced on July 23, 2026 that it will be opening a 2nd Conejo Valley location, in the City of Thousand Oaks. Specific address TBA but they are working towards a late 2026 / early 2027 grand opening for this new location. laidrey.com

Longevity Coffee is located in the Skyline Center at 2849 Thousand Oaks Blvd in Thousand Oaks. Longevity offers low acid, freshly roasted, certified organic coffee and shakes, smoothies, Longevity Sodas and ore. Food items offered include toasts, acai bowls, oatmeal, baked goods and more. Makenna Koffee Company opened a 2nd Conejo Valley location in the PetSmart/Boot Barn Plaza at 2700 Teller Road, Suite A, Newbury Park on Monday, April 12, 2026. makennakoffee.com

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters is located in the CVS/Trader Joe’s strip mall at 111 N. Reino Road (at Borchard) in Newbury Park. Ragamuffin offers espresso/coffee drinks, tea/non-coffee drinks and a selection of food items such as avocado toast, frittatas and baked goods (including gluten-free options). Stir Coffee Bar is a gourmet coffee shop at the Four Seasons Westlake Village, Two Dole Drive, that offers freshly brewed coffee from Loquat Coffee Roasters. Open daily 6am to 5pm. www.fourseasons.com/westlakevillage/dining/lounges/stir (Stir premiered in May 2015.)

Entropy Coffee & Tea is located on the 2nd floor of The Oaks Mall (east side, just an escalator ride from Starbucks). It opened in late 2025. They brew Verve Coffee and serve saffron-infused lattes, matcha, and more, as well as an assortment of bakery items. Chain Coffee Shops

Peet’s Coffee is at 595 Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks near Janss Marketplace. Peet’s is a California-based coffee chain founded in 1966, offering tea, blended drinks, pastries, sandwiches and their signature coffee. Dunkin’ (formerly Dunkin’ Donuts) bills itself as “the world’s leading baked goods and coffee chain” and thus their location at 30895 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. #101, Westlake Village (cross street Lindero) is included on this list. Their menu includes espresso, coffee, teas, frozen drinks and more, along with their signature donuts, sandwiches and other menu items. Possible Dutch Bros Coffee: On 8/14/25, a proposed project was submitted to the City of Thousand Oaks for a 1,025 sq ft Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru location in the northwest corner of Hillcrest Drive and Conejo Blvd within the Janss Marketplace parking lot. The application is under review. Stay tuned for updates.

Coffee Closures

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks closed in July 2011.

Boney Mountain Coffee Co. in the Dos Vientos section of Newbury Park closed in August 2013 and became BeanoVino, which subsequently closed in January 2020, then later reopened as Honeycup Coffeehouse & Creamery in August 2021.

Bean Crazy Coffee in Thousand Oaks closed in January 2017.

Green & Bean Coffee in Oak Park closed in early 2017, later reopening as Cafe Sapientia.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at 487 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks closed in June 2020.

Peet’s Coffee at the North Ranch Mall in Westlake Village closed in October 2020. This short-lived location opened in April 2019 and the location is now occupied by Nick the Greek.

Tell Me a Little Bit About the City of Westlake Village Boundary

Westlake Village is a master-planned community that is transected diagonally by the Los Angeles/Ventura County line. 

The Ventura County side of Westlake Village, which is 8,544 acres, was annexed into the City of Thousand Oaks in 1968 and 1972. The Los Angeles County side of Westlake Village is 3,456 acres and was incorporated as the City of Westlake Village in 1981.

Ah yes, the challenge of distinguishing between the Los Angeles and Ventura County sections of Westlake Village. It truly is a diagonal boundary that stretches from just northeast of Lindero Canyon Road, south of Blackbird Avenue on the north to South Westlake Blvd at Kirsten Lee Drive on the south.

It is impossible to drive, bike or walk the boundary line because it crosses right through the middle of Westlake Lake. Although, you could drive along the border on La Venta Drive southwest from Watergate Road.

Further north, the border cuts diagonally across Westlake Golf Course.  In fact, the driving range section of the golf course bordered on the west by Lakeview Canyon Road and on the north by the 101 is located within the City of Thousand Oaks while the rest of the course is in Westlake Village.

Costco Westlake Village and the Four Seasons Westlake Village are solely part of the City of Westlake Village, as is the Las Virgenes Reservoir.

Does it really matter what side you're on? For most, no. But there's one clear financial difference. Sales taxes. As of July 2026, sales taxes in the Thousand Oaks/Ventura County portion of Westlake Village are 7.25% as compared to 9.75% in the Los Angeles County based City of Westlake Village. The difference is 2.5% for Los Angeles County district taxes. That means if you live in the City of Westlake Village, you’ll be paying $1,250 more for a $50,000 car than those living in the Ventura County portion of Westlake Village.

The first pizzeria in the United States opened in Little Italy, New York City, in 1905. Lombardi’s is recognized as that first pizzeria, specializing in Neapolitan pizza, which is made with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Margherita pizza is a typical Neapolitan pizza with tomatoes, sliced mozzarella, fresh basil and extra-virgin olive oil.

Other varieties of pizza include New York thin-crust style, Chicago style (deep dish, thick crust), Detroit style (rectangular, thick crust, sauce on top) and Sicilian (square cut) and others.
