Residential Holiday Light Displays in the Conejo Valley and Surrounding Areas

There are an amazing number of spectacular residential holiday light displays throughout the Conejo Valley and Ventura County this 2018 Christmas season! We've compiled this list of displays that are synchronized to music. Click the links below for more detailed information about each display. Since these are residential displays, timing can and will vary and of course be impacted by rain, wind and other factors.

Residential 50,000 Light Display on Via Patricia in Newbury Park

Residential display simulcast to music on Baywater Pl in Thousand Oaks

Neat display at a home on Montgomery Road, just south of Janss Road in T.O.

Neat Christmas residential display simulcast to music at a home on Cantera Street in Thousand Oaks

Giant Rudolph and Fun Holiday Lights on Walter Avenue in Newbury Park, south of Kimber Drive, is another perennial favorite, with Rudolph, his girlfriend Clarice, Santa, Snowman and this year I was shocked to see a massive Nutcracker, towering higher than the two story house. There are also other great displays nearby, making this a nice neighborhood to drive through.

And just off of Walter Avenue is the Synchronized Light Display at 538 Brisbaine Avenue, Newbury Park - one of my personal favorites. Fun music and animated display. A kid favorite too. 5PM-10PM nightly through 12/31. Animated display features weekend appearances by Santa.

Two other great displays synchronized to music on an FM station are at 4687 Via Grande and just around the corner at 600 Via Vista in the Dos Vientos section of Newbury Park.

Yet another cool light display simulcast to music (FM station at the very low end of the dial) on Gold Hill Circle at Sundance in Thousand Oaks.

4903 Pathfinder Way in Westlake Village (Oak Park adjacent) (6:30-8:30 Fri-Sun dates in December - 12/1-2, 7-9, 14-16, 21-23. Manna canned food collection drive.)

No music but another gigantic Rudolph at a home on Via Coronado, east of Borchard in Dos Vientos.

Outstanding high-tech light show set to music on a local FM station once again this year at a home on Doone Street (cross street Warwick) in Thousand Oaks.

Christmas Tree Lane in Downtown Oxnard is a Fun Residential Holiday Display

OxnardXmasLights1.jpg

Every holiday season, one of Ventura County's biggest residential light displays lights up the historic section of Downtown Oxnard on F and G streets between 5th and Palm. Worth a visit! And check out the holiday decorated pagoda at nearby Plaza Park. More information at www.oxnardhistoricdistrict.com.

For the 2017 holiday season, Christmas Tree Lane will be on display by local residents nightly from 6-10PM from December 10 to December 26.

Christmas Tree Lane Visitor Tips from the Oxnard Historic District:

Visitors are asked not to walk in private yards or driveways, unless allowed by residents.

Visitors can walk the route (the best way to fully take it all in) by parking on adjacent side streets and making the 10 block loop. Warm attire is recommended.

Visitors in vehicles are asked to keep headlights on for safety reasons. Old timers to Ventura’s Candy Cane Lane remember the rule of turning off your headlights off, but with three cross streets on Christmas Tree Lane and significantly more visitors headlights must be on for everyone’s safety.

Please respect the privacy of all residents. Please keep children attended with adults at all times, do not allow them to touch or climb on any exhibits - this is for their own safety!

Please be courteous when the crowds are larger on weekends and the sidewalks are congested.

Christmas Residential Holiday Light Display on Gemini/Waverly in Camarillo

As in many Christmas seasons past, homes on Gemini Avenue and Waverly Avenue south of Dunnigan Street in Camarillo are decked out with cartoon characters, trains, Santa, snowmen, and plenty of lights and other decorations this 2017 holiday season.

Drive the route or park and walk any night of the week. It is worth going out of your way for! From the the 101, take Arneill north past Ponderosa to Dunnigan. Turn right on Dunnigan and Gemini is the 4th street on your right. We've been stopping by this familiar display for years.

Christmas Around the World Exhibit Back at Reagan Library after Six Year Hiatus

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is bringing back, after a six year hiatus, the Christmas Around the World exhibit.  The exhibit opens November 14 and runs through December 21.

Designed by Reagan staff and constructed by a team of volunteers, the exhibit features Christmas trees festively decorated to reflect each of the 26 countries visited by President Reagan during his eight years in office.

"What countries did he visit?" you may ask. That would be Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Barbados, France, Italy, Vatican City, United Kingdom, West Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Japan, South Korea, China, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Grenada, Indonesia, Iceland, Finland and the Soviet Union.

In addition to the 26 trees will be a special White House Tree - a reproduction of the Reagans' tree complete with "Reagan Red" decorations and hand-blown glass ornaments.

The Reagan Library is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Admission is: $16.00, $13.00 for seniors 62+, $9.00 for children 11-17, $6 for children 3-10 and free for children 2 and under.  For more information, visit www.reaganlibrary.com. Located at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.
