The Oxnard Performing Arts Center (The PACC) proudly presents SYNCOPATED LADIES!

From viral videos shared by Beyoncé to crew battles on "So You Think You Can Dance", the talented dancers of Syncopated Ladies are at the forefront of the tap movement. During this high-energy show, you'll witness the electrifying and inspiring moves from this world-travelling troupe, where fierce footwork meets a cutting-edge style. Founder Chloe Arnold has debuted choreography on "So You Think You Can Dance, Good Morning America, The Talk, The Ellen Show", and over 20 episodes of "The Late Late Show With James Corden". Complete with a supporting band of accomplished musicians, the action-packed performance taps through Oxnard Performing Arts Center.

SYNCOPATED LADIES is a Female Tap Dance Band from Los Angeles, widely known for viral videos that have been Beyoncé approved and have accumulated over 50 million views. They also were featured on So You Think You Can Dance - Season 11 as the Winner of the First Crew Battle. 9th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley Golf Classic on June 11, 2018

Golfers are invited to participate in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley’s 9th Annual Golf Classic while helping raise funds for local youth on Monday, June 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Moorpark Country Club, 11800 Championship Drive. 

The day’s events include an opening breakfast, exciting contests, lunch, hosted cocktail reception & dinner, live auction, opportunity drawings, and an awards presentation.  New this year is the 2018 Golf School for those who are new to golf or who want to improve their game.  The Golf School includes a Swing, Chipping and Putting Clinic and lessons provided by Moorpark Country Club PGA golf professionals.  The Golf School also includes a Q&A session with the Country Club’s professionals and an awards ceremony.  

All proceeds will help provide quality before and after school programs and enrichment in education, the arts, health, sports, technology and leadership.

Humane Society of Ventura County Birthday Bash & Open House in Ojai on June 9th

Stop by the Humane Society of Ventura County between 10-3 on Saturday, June 9, 2018 to celebrate 86 years of service to Ventura County. Get a behind the scenes peek at the facility, interact with animals, tour the kennels and clinic, meet the staff, and learn about different volunteer opportunities. Bring the whole family to enjoy refreshments, participate in a treasure hunt and learn more about how YOU can make a difference in the lives of animals in need!

Humane Educator, Robin Satnick, will have a variety of activities for children along with information on responsible pet ownership. Our Humane Officers will be on hand to give you a look at the responsibilities and duties of protecting animals throughout the county. We are pleased to welcome back Firefly Ceramics and their Tiles for Tails program. For a $25 donation benefiting our new kennels, you can design your own tile that will be permanently displayed on site here at the Shelter. 

What would a visit to a shelter be without the main attraction—the animals! There will be a full house of critters available for adoption; you never know when you are going to meet your new best friend!

Arbor Earth Day Event at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden on Saturday, April 28, 2018

The Conejo Chinese Cultural Association (CCCA) Youth Project will host an Earth Day celebration at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1-4pm to increase awareness of natural grown native plants.

Activities will include distributing local grown plants free of charge to participants, demonstrating the paper making process where you can create your own paper from recycled materials; face painting and paper folding.

The event will take place at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden's Kids' Adventure Garden, located at Jeaunine Dr. Thousand Oaks. Free Admission.

6th Annual Pants Off Racing Almost 10K/5K at Malibu Creek State Park on November 3, 2018

Pants Off Racing's 6th Annual Almost 10K/5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk for the 1st Time will take place at Malibu Creek State Park on Saturday, November 3, 2018 and will include a 1 mile fun run/walk, 5K and 10K distances. All proceeds from the event are used to assist families and support pancreatic cancer victims.

Pants Off Racing's mission is to provide service to those lives affected by pancreatic cancer through time, energy, and goodwill; to integrate and unite generations, through sport participation, while creating public awareness about pancreatic cancer.

Last year’s Prayer Breakfast was attended by nearly 400 community members, and we expect another great turnout this year with an inspiring program and theme: Pray for America - UNITY.

We Run The Promenade 5K in Westlake Village on Saturday, May 19th

On your marks, get set, join us for We Run The Promenade, an exhilarating 5K that begins and ends at The Promenade at Westlake on May 19. The race takes place at 9AM, and costs $10 per person. All proceeds will benefit The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools, a volunteer parent organization that works hand-in-hand with the school district and the individual Parent Faculty Associations to help make sure children receive the strongest education possible from kindergarten through high school.

  • Makerspace Expo showcasing some of the cool things students and community members do at local Makerspaces

JPL Hosts "A Ticket to Explore" Public Event the Weekend of June 9-10, 2018 (SOLD OUT)

"A Ticket to Explore JPL” is a special weekend when JPL opens its doors to the public and displays all the ways they are  exploring the solar system and beyond. Advance tickets are required to this event on June 9-10, 2018 from 8:30 am to 4 pm.

Tickets are free, but limited, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning April 7, 2018 starting at 9 a.m. at https://explore.jpl.nasa.gov. Maximum number of tickets per requestor is five and must be reserved for specific names.

At "Explore JPL," visitors will have the opportunity to see, among other things, a life-sized model of InSight -- the next mission to Mars, scheduled to launch in May -- and Mars rovers, plus JPL's machine shop, where precise parts are made for spacecraft. This event coincides with the 60thanniversary of NASA. The agency was created in 1958.

Although children under two do not require a ticket, experiences at the event are not intended for very young guests.
