Last month, IKEA announced it will be expanding its presence in the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area with new locations in Santa Monica, Thousand Oaks, Laguna Hills, and Ontario.
Thousand Oaks and Ontario will be home to two new IKEA Plan and Order Points with Pick-up, allowing customers to plan, order, and collect purchases made in-studio, in-store and online. At an IKEA Plan & order point with Pick-up, you can get support from IKEA experts for home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help – such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, IKEA will be opening two IKEA Pick-Up Points in Santa Monica and Laguna Hills, where you can pick up your purchases from IKEA.
While this may be a welcome surprise to many in the Conejo Valley, keep in mind that these stores are just a small fraction of the size of a traditional 300,000 sq ft IKEA store. The Plan and Order Points stores typically range from a few thousand to perhaps 10,000 sq ft. There are some items on hand that you may purchase and take with you, but for the most part, you order and either have items delivered, or pick them up at a later date.
Where? The T.O. Acorn has identified the location of the store will be in the CVS plaza, corner of T.O. Blvd and Moorpark Road.
Meatballs? Unlikely.

The Red O Taste of Mexico sign at The Promenade at Westlake has been updated to show a Fall 2024 opening date. We first learned of this eatery coming when The Grill On The Alley closed in late October 2022. Fall 2024 begins September 22nd and ends December 21st, so we'll see if Red O is a GO in that time frame. Updates at redorestaurant.com.
