Borchard Skatepark Expansion and Renovation Project in Newbury Park

The Conejo Recreation & Park District voted to approve the expansion and renovation of the Borchard Skatepark in April 2025. The Skatepark is located at Borchard Community Park, 190 Reino Road in Newbury Park, at the corner of Reino and Borchard.

The project will entail demolishing the existing 10,000 sq ft facility and existing parking area to construct a new 20,000 sq ft multi-use facility. Improvements include enhanced lighting, four shade structures, a covered picnic area, spectator seating, and more. The larger facility will offer additional amenities, while providing inclusivity and accessibility to patrons of all abilities.

Total project cost is $4.5 million. Construction is anticipated to begin late this year after final permits are secured.

Oakwell Mixed-Use Project in Newbury Park Underway at 2150 W. Hillcrest Road

Demolition of former Amgen building underway at 2150 w. hillcrest Road.

The former Amgen property at 2150 W. Hillcrest Road (at Rancho Conejo Blvd (behind the Chevron station) is being redeveloped into a 333 unit mixed-use development with 6,500 retail sq ft. Named "Oakwell," the project will include 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units averaging 948 sq ft and is being developed by The Latigo Group, which also built the Santal development across from Tarantula Hill Brewing Co. t & g's Italian Beef & Dogs is Open at The Village at Dos Vientos in Newbury Park

t & g's Italian Beef and Dogs is in soft opening mode at The Village at Dos Vientos, 370 Via Las Brisas in Newbury Park. Italian beef, dogs, salads, pastas, desserts, and more from a Chicago Italian family that has been in business since 1963. Really fun looking family place. No website or social media yet - they’re working on it - but they are in soft opening mode from 10:30am to 9pm.

The previous occupant of this space was Sushi 2 Vientos in November 2023 and closed in the August 2024 time frame. Prior to that, Yama San closed in late 2022.
