Little Calf Creamery and Cafe Coming to Home Goods Shopping Center in Thousand Oaks

Update 10/16/15: Little Calf Creamery and Cafe will be opening for lunch for the first time this Sunday, October 18th, at 11 am.

Original Post 7/23/15: Yesterday a CVG Facebook follower made us aware that the Little Calf Creamery and Cafe is coming to the former home of the Greenhouse Cafe in the Home Goods Shopping Center (now the Conejo Valley Plaza) at 652 East Janss Road (at Moorpark Road).

Little Calf Creamery and Cafe is a family restaurant serving artisan ice cream, sorbets and delicious salads, sandwiches, soups and burgers. Ice cream will be made on premises in small batches, with 11 year-round flavors and eight seasonal/rotational flavors.

Milk supplied for the ice cream will come from rBGH and rBST free California cows. Baked goods will be made from scratch daily.

Ragsdale Kitchen & Bar to Open This Spring in Downtown Ventura

Update 10/3/15: Well, the Spring opening didn't happen, nor did summer, but apparently they are on the cusp of opening any day now...ok it appears they opened in November! www.facebook.com/RagdaleVentura

Posted 4/10/15: Ragsdale Kitchen & Bar will be opening this Spring at 692 E. Main St., Ventura (formerly Chicago's Ribs, which closed last year). According to its Facebook page, Ragsdale will serve food with American/Fusion influences for lunch and dinner. www.ragsdalekitchenandbar.com

According to a Craiglist employment ad, Ragsdale's "sister restaurant" is the Midtown Cafe www.midtowncafeventura.com.

The Oaks Mall Announces Three New Eateries Coming in Summer 2016 - Pizza Rev, Urban Plates and Chipotle

In addition to the previously mentioned De-Lite-Ful Low Carb Restaurant coming to The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks sometime early next year, there are three additional eateries coming to the The Oaks towards to the summer of 2016. 

PizzaRev is a "build your own" fast-casual pizza place with other local locations in Camarillo, Oxnard and Woodland Hills. 

Chipotle...well, I'm pretty sure you already now about Chipotle Mexican Grill, with other local locations in Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Oxnard, Ventura and Malibu.

Urban Plates - This is a restaurant with locations in San Diego, Irvine, Dublin, and soon, Playa Vista, serving "made from scratch" salads, entrees, braises and stews and sandwiches. "Farm to plate and won't break the bank" is what they say at www.urbanplates.com.

These eateries are planned as part of the new construction that is planned west of Lazy Dog Cafe.

Hook Burger to Open Up Simi Valley Location This Summer (Closed April 2019)

HOOK BURGER SIMI VALLEY CLOSED ITS DOORS IN APRIL 2019. Soon thereafter, Funburger opened in its place.

Posted 5/9/15: Hook Burger is opening up a new location this summer at 2490 Sycamore Drive in Simi Valley, joining other local locations in Westlake Village (opened last October) and Oxnard. Hook Burger serves up a variety of burgers and sandwiches, like the Seared Tuna Sandwich (fresh seared albacore, homemade Asian slaw, wasabi tartar on toasted brioche bun). I stopped by their Westlake Village location and enjoyed the veggie burger as well as some might tasty onion rings. Learn more at hookburger.com.

Musical Sushi Bars in the Conejo Valley

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters Opening Store This Month in Newbury Park

Final Update (thanks for the reminder, Brandon H): Ragamuffin opened about a month ago!

Posted 1/4/15: Hector Diaz tipped us off that Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters is planning to open this month at the Trader Joe's/CVS/Fitness 19 plaza at the corner of Reino and Borchard in Newbury Park (111 N. Reino Road). It will be located in the space previously occupied by Parkview Cafe that became vacant earlier this year.

Ragamuffin is a small batch coffee microroaster, locally owned and grown by a husband/wife team that has true passion for premium coffee. They have been fine tuning their roasting for about four years now and this storefront location is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign!

Buffalo Wild Wings Coming to the Simi Valley Town Center Later This Summer

Update: Grand opening date is Monday, September 21, 2015. There's a flyer on the Simi Valley Town Center Facebook page indicating the first 100 customers receive free wings for a year. There's no phone number or hours but I assume they open at 11 a.m., consistent with other locations.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a casual dining restaurant and sports bar specializing in chicken wings and sauces. There are 1,080 Buffalo Wild Wings locations around the world.  Buffalo Wild Wings opens on the west side of the Simi Valley Town Center, near the new Studio Movie Grill. Pizza Man Dan's to Open This October at Camarillo Village Square

Pizza Man Dan's has announced it is coming to the Camarillo Village Square at the corner of Los Posas and Arneill in Camarillo. It will occupy the former home of Me-n-Ed's Pizza.

Pizza Man Dan's was created in July 2012 by the former president of Rusty's Pizza.  It now has locations in Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme and Moorpark. Offering specialty and make your own pizzas, California hot wings, hot subs and more.

Drive-Thru Starbucks Coming to Las Posas and Arneill in Camarillo

Update 9/18/15: It opened on Thursday, September 17th! Looking good! The Camarillo Drive-Thru Starbucks joins other local area drive-thru Starbucks locations in Thousand Oaks (T.O. Blvd at Rancho Rd), Newbury Park (Wendy & Grande Vista), Thousand Oaks (Oak Park adjacent) (Lindero and Kanan), Simi Valley (Los Angeles and 1st), Oxnard (Channel Island and Rose, Saviers & Channel Islands), Santa Paula (Palm and Harvard) and Fillmore (Highway 126 and A Street). I'm seeing a trend here.

Original post 7/24/15: A drive-thru Starbucks is work in process at the corner of Las Posas and Arneill in Camarillo. It will be replacing the existing Starbucks at the Camarillo Village Square.

Also in the works is a Sweet Frog Premium Frozen Yogurt adjacent to the new Starbucks. In the existing Starbucks location in the plaza (adjacent to Subway and Panda Express on the other side) a Wingstop is planned. No word on timing of course as it  will obviously be contingent on timing of the transition of Starbucks.
