Pick Up Stix Westlake Village is in the process of relocating from the now closed location at The Shoppes at Westlake Village (across from Guitar Center and Target) to its new location at the former Togo's in the Westlake Plaza at 2761 Agoura Road. The new location is anticipated to open in late August.
Tomorrow, Friday, August 12th, a new Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express is opening at 2022 First Street in Simi Valley. In celebration of their grand opening, the first 100 fans will receive a free Original Fatburger, starting at 11:30 a.m. Others can stop by all day and receive a free order of Skinny Fries or Fat Fries with any burger or sandwich purchase. fatburger.com
Received word from Leon that the former Islands in Simi Valley (1213 Simi Town Center Way) that closed in late 2020 has a sign indicating Kalaveras Mexican Cuisine is coming soon.
Kalaveras is a fast casual eatery featuring Mexican and Latin American cuisine with vibrant colors, art, music and culture of El Dia de los Muertos (kalavera means "skull" in Spanish).
They currently have 12 locations (closest in Pasadena, West LA and Silver Lake) with 13 new locations coming soon, including this one, North Hollywood and Burbank.

Selvin's Restaurant + Lounge is the name of the new restaurant coming in early 2023 to the Palm Garden Hotel in Newbury Park. California cuisine is what I’ve heard will be their focus. Otherwise, check for updates at www.selvins.com.
Armando's Tacos in Thousand Oaks (near Crown and Anchor) closed their doors permanently today "due to unfortunate circumstances." They opened in the fall of 2020.

The drive-thru Starbucks to be built at the corner of Moorpark Road and Avenida De Las Flores in Thousand Oaks is certain to be a destination for Thousand Oaks High School students across the street.
Newbury Park High School has been replaced....temporarily, that is, with Waymont High School, Home of the Warriors (wait a second...isn't that the Westlake High School mascot!?). Filming is going on at the school for a high school comedy movie called "Incoming."
From Variety: “Incoming” follows four incoming freshmen as they navigate the terrors of adolescence at their first-ever high school party. The cast also includes “The Black Phone” actor Mason Thames, Bobby Cannavale and fellow “Mick” alum Kaitlin Olson. Directors are Dave and John Chernin, known for the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," in their feature filmmaking debut.
