Denino's Pizzeria Thousand Oaks Opened Today, Tuesday, April 18, 2023

Denino’s Pizzeria Thousand Oaks made its grand opening today after a long wait at 1710 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, offering authentic New York style pizza, heroes, salads and appetizers.

This is a very casual eatery, with outdoor seating only, takeout and delivery. My initial try was a simple Cheese Pie. Definitely tastes of New York - light, crisp, thin crust and tasty. Next time I’ll kick it up a notch with A Salute Pie (Ricotta, Fresh Mozzarella, Olive Oil, Seasoned Arugula), Denino’s M.O.R. Pie (Meatball, Fresh Onions, Ricotta), Garbage Pie (Sausage, Meatballs, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions) or others.

Their appetizers include Scungili and Scungili Salad, which I can’t recall seeing anywhere else locally, Italian Egg Roll, Fried Calamari and more.

Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse to Open Thousand Oaks Location on October 16, 2023

UPDATE 10/3/23: the Fogo de Chao website indicates October 16, 2023 is the date the new location at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks will be opening.

Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse is slated to open a Thousand Oaks location sometime this year. This is in addition to another new location opening at 6263 Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills on March 31st.

This popular steakhouse, or churrascaria, was founded in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, expanded into the U.S. in 1997 and now operates over 50 locations in Brazil, the U.S., Mexico and the MIddle East. So where will the Thousand Oaks location be? Could it be at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks? Don't know at this point. We shall see. More info at www.fogodechao.com.

The Kebab Shop is Coming "Soonish" to Thousand Oaks (Soft Opening November 1st)

UPDATE 10/31/23: The Kebab Shop indicates on its Instagram page that it will be “soft opening” on Wednesday, November 1st.

Leon N sent over this photo of the future new occupant of the space formerly occupied by Blaze Pizza in the Northgate Plaza at the southwest corner of Thousand Oaks and Westlake Boulevards in Thousand Oaks. The Kebab Shop is "coming soonish," joining its other locations in Burbank, Encino, Cerritos, Northridge, El Segundo and Seal Beach. Their menu includes wraps, kebabs (duh), combinations and more. Culichi Town Mexican Style Food Now Open in Camarillo

Culichi Town Mexican Style Food opened a couple weekends ago in the Camarillo Plaza on Daily Drive in the former Brendan's Irish Pub (and before that Sizzler) location. Culichi Town is dedicated to the typical dishes of the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. Menu available at www.culichitowncamarillo.com. Quite an interesting menu indeed, with traditional Mexican dishes we all know and love like tacos but also numerous things you won’t find at most Mexican eateries…various types of ceviches, rolls, and more.

Hot Motha Clucker Now Open in Thousand Oaks

Something new is coming to the former The Fisherman's Wife, 101 BBQ Hut (now open at The Shoppes at Westlake Village) and Burgerim spot at 1610 Thousand Oaks Boulevard (next to Nothing Bundt Cakes).  Hot Motha Clucker is coming soon, offering hot Nashville style chicken and more. Round Table Pizza in the Oakbrook Plaza in Thousand Oaks (Ave de los Arboles at Erbes) became Manny's Pizza yesterday. Manny, the owner of Round Table, is now the owner of Manny’s Pizza.
