Crossroads Kitchen Coming to The Commons at Calabasas

The mayor of Calabasas recently announced that upscale vegan eatery Crossroads Kitchen will be taking over the space recently vacated by The Corner Bakery at The Commons at Calabasas. Corner Bakery had operated there for 25 years.

Crossroads Kitchen opened in March 2013 at the corner of Melrose and Sweetzer in Los Angeles, serving "mouthwatering Mediterranean meals in a refined environment." Timing TBA. It will be located next to the new Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers and across from King's Fish House.

Crumbl Cookies Westlake Village Looks to Open by...July 15, 2022

We’re told that grand opening date is Friday, July 15, 2022.

That’s what I’m told at least. We shall see. But we do see the sign is up at the soon to be Crumbl Cookies at The Shoppes at Westlake Village. just a matter of time. The excitement is brewing, if queries from CVG followers are any indication.

Crumbl opened three years ago and has quickly expanded to over 300 bakeries in 36 states.

Chez Nini Bistro Opening this Summer at The Promenade at Westlake (Or Maybe Not)

UPDATE: Summer has come and gone and still no Chez Nini. Now we’re in December 2023 and No No Nini.

Chez Nini Bistro is coming this summer to The Promenade at Westlake (thanks to Rob J of Conejo Deals for the heads up). From the owners of Nicolas Eatery in Malibu (a family-run restaurant serving food made with French cooking techniques) . To be located next to Sprinkles Cupcakes.

Ox Bone Ramen Coming Soon to the North Ranch Gateway in Westlake Village (OPENED IN MID-APRIL)

Ox Bone Ramen is "coming soon" to the North Ranch Gateway at 30689 Thousand Oaks Boulevard (cross street Lindero Canyon Road) in Westlake Village, near Domino's Pizza, Baja Fresh and Dunkin Donuts. Over the last five years, this space has been occupied by Milad's Kitchen (recently closed), West Village Cafe and Tekos Brazilian Grill. No other info at this point. Stay tuned.

The Stand Opened Today in Westlake Village

Lucas C gave us the heads up via Instagram today that The Stand Westlake Village opened today, just four months after the original “coming soon” announcement. Located in the former Pitfire Pizza at the Westlake Plaza (on the Gelsons side). The Stand serves burgers, sandwiches, salads and much more.

Pitfire Pizza closed at the beginning of the pandemic. It opened its doors on August 2, 2015.

Roast & Rice - Asian Fusion Open in Westlake Village

The former Basil & Prawn that closed last fall in Thousand Oaks has opened in “soft opening” mode as Roast & Rice Kitchen at 30990 Russell Ranch Road, Westlake Village, in the former Barone’s Pizzeria space across from Lure Fish House and adjacent to Cici’s.

Roast & Rice is an “Asian Fusion” eatery that serves rice and noodle dishes, sushi and more.

Hummus Lali Opening February 27th at The Shoppes at Westlake Village (NOW OPEN)

UPDATE: Now open in “soft opening” mode. Official “grand opening” is still Feb 27th.

Hummus Lali is opening later this month at The Shoppes at Westlake Village in the spot previously occupied by Urban Vejjie and Greens Up, serving quick-serve Mediterranean food, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
