Kids Club at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks

The Kids Club at The Lakes meets every Wednesday of the month from 11am to noon on the lawn during the months of April through October. Geared towards kids 10 and under.

Call 805.497.9861 for more information. Events are outdoors; rain generally cancels events but call first.

Events vary from puppet shows to storytellers to musicians, petting zoos, arts and crafts, etc. for preschoolers and their parents. These are outdoor events and are weather permitting. Contact The Lakes for more information at 805.497.9861 or www.shoplakes.com.

In addition to the kids club, The Lakes has a small playground area that is geared toward the younger kids, an expanse of grass and 2 beautiful lakes, waterfall, fountain, etc. This is a nice park-like setting that makes you forget the fact that you are looking straight out at Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

June 12: Bob Harrison - Young and old will be rocking with the tunes from this popular children’s musician! Bob has a concert of high-energy musical fun. Everyone will be up and dancing along with an interactive show.

June 18: Quality Puppets - Get immersed in a wonderful love story between a Princess and Pirate Prince! Watch the tale unfold as a witch turns the Pirate Prince into a frog, leaving it up to the Princess to bring him back with an act of true love.

June 25: The Reptile Family - Learn all about these fascinating animals with Courtney and Chris! Get up close and personal with your favorite cold-blooded creatures, featuring snakes, lizards, and more.

Stop by The Commons at Calabasas (4799 Commons Way) every Tuesday night at 6pm for a weekly dose of fun, including music, dance, arts, crafts, entertainment and so on.

June 18: Quality Puppets - Danny the Dragon - Come and see an amazing story unfold with our Quality puppets! This is a story about Little Danny the Dragon, who disobeys Merlin and ends up getting lost in the woods! After a long adventure, Danny finds his way home but learns a valuable lesson.

June 25: Magic with Allen - Magician Allen stands out with unique, mind-boggling techniques. Guaranteed to amaze kids of all ages, he hails from The Magic Castle with more than 20 years of expertise.

Marina Park in Ventura

Marina Park is located at the south end of Pierpont Boulevard in Ventura (near the intersection of Pierpont and Coral Street). It is a 15 acre park that has over a third of a mile of oceanfront adjacent to Ventura Harbor, giving it plenty of beachfront, flat sand to play in.

There is also a kids play area (geared toward younger kids), plenty of grass, restrooms and more. There is also a water taxi and a fishing dock. Fun destination park in the Ventura Keys. We never go wrong bringing the kids here. More info at www.cityofventura.net/parks.

The zip line attached to the "San Salvador" ship was taken down in 2016. The city indicates there is a possibility it will be replaced if a safe alternative can be identified.

Kids Club at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura

The Kids Club at the Pacific View Mall takes place on designated Saturdays from 3-4pm in the Center Court area of the mall. Upcoming Kids Club events on the calendar are as follows:

June 15: Special guest will be Ms. H2O with Ventura Water. They will be talking about water conservation and water sources. Through an interactive story telling experience, kids will explore the journey water takes as it travels from the mountains to the faucet. They will discuss the importance of protecting and conserving water.

JCPenney Kids Zone at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks takes place from 11 am to noon the 2nd Saturday of each month.

May 11th: Kids get to make either a Jojo Siwa or TMNT themed Mother’s Day card. The kit will include cards, cardstock, stamps, stencils, crayons and sticker sheets! The Kids Fun Zone program at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks will take place the last Saturday of the month from March through October in 2019. This free event takes place from noon to 2pm near Burlington.

Scooter's Jungle Simi Valley

Scooter’s Jungle Simi Valley is a 12,000 square foot facility located at 2250 Union Place, Unit B with huge, custom-made inflatable jumpers and permanent structures that include the tallest and longest indoor inflatable slide. The play equipment is right-sized for kids and parents to play. The facility opened its doors in December 2012.

Features both open play and private events, including birthday parties, fundraisers and team gatherings. Free table games and a DJ‑quality music system also in place.

"All ages" two-hour open play events are $10 per child, which includes on adult. Additional adults $5 each (as of May 2019).

We visited Scooter's Jungle for the first time in February 2013 during an "open play" session. There are 3 slides, one of which I tried, and it was quite fast! There are 4 different bounce houses, including 2 with mini-obstacles and a fun mini zip line, and a 4th, larger bouncer with basketball hoops in it. There is also an extra large climbing play area and two ping pong tables.

Storytime in the JCPenney Court at The Oaks Every 3rd Friday of the Month

Calabasas Mommy hosts Storytime and Play Date near The Oaks Mall indoor play area from 10am to 11am every 3rd Friday of the month. Near the JCPenney Court. Meet and greet at 10am, kids’ crafts and family story time at 1015am, including parent/child reading circle and parachute play and more craft time at 10:30am.
