The Camarillo Police Department announces its first annual Trunk or Treat event on Thursday, October 26th from 6-8PM at the Camarillo Police Station, 3701 Las Posas Road. Several community partners will adorn their cars in Halloween decorations and pass out candy to kids as they walk by. This event is intended to be a free, slightly spooky, family friendly event that is appropriate for all ages. First responders will be present to hand out candy, show several vehicles, including an armored vehicle, police car, sheriff’s off-road vehicle, and a Ventura County Fire Engine. A sheriff’s K9 will also be on hand.
The 13th Annual Peace Pumpkin Fest at Peace Lutheran Church, 71 Loma Drive, Camarillo is planned for Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10am to 3pm. Free admission. Tickets can be purchased for attractions such as hay rides, face painting, carnival games, inflatables, petting zoo, hot dogs and more. www.peacecamarillo.com/pumpkin-fest.html

America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark, turns wildly spooktacular the weekends of October 21-22 and 28-29, 2023 from 11am to 4:30pm for “Boo at the Zoo,” the annual Halloween-themed event that features animal shows, trick or treating, kids’ scavenger hunt, food trucks, free kids’ crafts and more.
For the family-fun event, the Zoo will be draped in decorations, and people of all ages can closely view the more than 100 animals cared for at the Zoo.
Entry fee is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and children ages 3-17. Kids ages 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at zoo.moorparkcollege.edu/boo-at-the-zoo.
America’s Teaching Zoo is the only zoo in Ventura County and is the home of the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program, which started in 1971. The program offers preparation for those interested in entering the expanding animal care industry. The students study zoo keeping, basic medical care, wildlife education and training using positive reinforcement methods.
The annual "Pumpkin Party" at the Leonis Adobe Museum is planned for Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Enjoy live music, demonstrations, hands on crafts and more! Costumes admired but not required.
Admission is $8 per person; children under 2, free of charge.

The 2nd Annual Nathaniel’s Hope Make ‘m Smile event will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11am to 3pm at America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. It is a celebration for kids and adults with all types of disabilities of all ages! This FREE event is filled with family entertainment, games, characters, animals, food, helpful resources from the community, and tons of smiles.
