La Katrina Tacos & Beer is opening this coming Monday at the former home of Rubio's Newbury Park at 2751 E. Hillcrest Drive (PetSmart/Boot Barn/Ross plaza).

Prime Pizza is coming to the former JRA Bikes & Brew, at 215 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks, across from Tarantula Hill Brewing. Prime Pizza offers New York style pizza, "made for LA" in both round and square pies. They have locations in Altadena, Burbank, El Segundo, Fairfax, Little Tokyo, Pico, West LA, and most recently, Woodland Hills. Thousand Oaks location is opening in 2026. Learn more at primepizza.la.
Dumpling Shack opened this week in the Moorpark Marketplace at 888 New Los Angeles Avenue, Suite D, in Moorpark. This Chinese eatery offers mouth watering soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), juicy boiled dumplings, pan fried dumplings (potstickers), wontons, dim sum, noodle dishes, udon, fried rice, and more. Shibuya Sushi Calabasas has had plans to open a 2nd location in Calabasas for well over a year. The new location is on Las Virgenes Road, north of the 101, near the new Honey Cup Coffeehouse and Inner Power Yoga. The signs are up - one says Shibuya To-Go and the other Shibuya Annex - but timing is still TBA. The original Shibuya at 4774 Park Granada in Calabasas (near The Commons) is extremely popular and quite small, so this 2nd location is highly anticipated. www.instagram.com/shibuya_calabasas

Bikanervala opened yesterday at the North Ranch Shopping Plaza at 3825 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, offering Indian food, sweets, chaat, and snacks. It is located in the space previously occupied by Hunan Restaurant that closed in December 2021.

Boochies Matcha Bistro looks to be coming this fall to The Plaza Mission Oaks at 4986 Verdugo Way in Camarillo, in the space previously occupied by Cold Stone Creamery and Subway, and a few doors down from Old New York Deli.

Sora Handroll Bar is coming soon to The Lakes at Thousand Oaks. The City of Thousand Oaks Planning Commission will host a public hearing on Monday, August 25th, to consider an application from Raising Cane's to make some changes to the former Amy's Drive-Thru eatery space in the Best Buy Plaza at 400 N. Moorpark Road. The proposal is for a 12% reduction in parking spaces, landscape changes, and other matters.
