As mentioned earlier this year, Social Monk Asian Kitchen is coming soon to The Promenade at Westlake, 4000 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Space C1, Westlake Village.
“Asian Flavor for the Modern Table”
Menu includes, sandwiches, rice bowls, noodle bowls, classic dishes, veggie dishes and more.
UPDATE: Novo Cafe opened in the June time frame.
Novo Cafe plans to open at The Shoppes at Westlake in Westlake Village in the former home of Jeannine’s Gourmet Food Hall. 30770 Russell Ranch Road, Suite G.
Novo has a location operating in Burbank, offering up authentic regional Italian cuisine. Menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, panini, organic salads, appetizers and entrees.

UPDATE: Coaches Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor’s grand opening is Saturday, May 25th at 10:30am.
Coaches Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor is “coming soon” to the Wendy-Kimber Plaza, 3345 Kimber Drive, Newbury Park. It will be located next to Country Harvest, in the space previously occupied by Bushido Martial Arts, which moved a few suites down.
Rumor has it that the owners are the same folks that own Country Harvest. This will undoubtedly be an exciting addition to the neighborhood.

Update: Royal Egg Cafe is now open.
The signs are up and it looks like The Royal Egg Cafe will be opening soon, sometime in early February, at the North Ranch Gateway (aka TJ Maxx) Plaza, 30815 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Westlake Village.
The Royal Egg Cafe calls itself an “all day breakfast cafe serving gourmet dishes from locally sourced, organic ingredients.” Its menu indicates organic free-range chicken, all natural beef and pork and organic fair trade coffee and tea.
Hours posted on their Instagram page are Mon-Fri 6:30AM-4PM and Sat/Sun 7:30AM-4PM.

UPDATE: Shavers Hawaiian Shave Ice closed in spring/summer 2020.
About a month ago, Shavers Hawaiian Shave Ice opened at The Oaks mall, on the first floor near Starbucks in what was formerly Teavana. Shavers offers two sizes and either mixture of one or two flavor; or choose one of their selected combinations. www.shaversusa.com
We are sad to announce that Shave It! recently closed their doors after 12 years serving the local community.. It was definitely sad to see the inside of the store completely empty, after many times there with the kids after Saturday sports activities.

The former Jeanette’s Edelweiss (and Julie’s Alps for a brief period) is now under new ownership and has rebranded as Edelweiss German Bierhaus and Restaurant. It is owned and managed by the previous manager of Jeanette’s.
The menu features bratwurst and German specialties such as weinerschnitzel, schnitzel sandwich, spatzle, hamhock, brat samplers, giant pretzels and more. There are also vegan dishes, including schnitzel, currywurst and salads.
Live polka band on Friday and Saturday nights.

Calabrese Café is now open at The Summit in Calabasas, 26787 Agoura Rd #E-1 in the space previously occupied by Industry Bar & Grill and prior to that Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing.
Co-founded by celebrity fitness & nutrition expert Autumn Calabrese and her brother, Chef Bobby Calabrese.
Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu includes a variety of wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads and desserts, all with a health-conscious focus. Also a specialty coffee and tea bar as well as beer and wine.

Julio’s Agave Grill opened this past Monday, November 19th, at 2809 Agoura Road, Westlake Village, in the Westlake Commons.
Julio’s is serving from a limited menu as it progresses to a final menu, with new dishes added daily. Items on the initial menu include ceviche, salads, enchiladas, fish tacos, prime rib eye steak (Fillete Ladrillo), fish dishes, carnitas and other Mexican specialties.
