Tomol Interpretative Play Area at Carpinteria State Beach

Located at 390 Linden Avenue, Carpinteria, at the northern corner of Carpinteria State Beach Park, the Tomol Interpretive Play Area opened in 2011 through the cooperative efforts of California State Parks, the Morning Rotary Club of Carpinteria, and the City of Carpinteria.

The play area, universally accessible by all visitors, features a Chumash Indian village with slides, cave, sandstone boulders, a "tomol" plank boat, rainbow bridge and other play structures. Definitely something to stop by and check out with your little ones when you are in the area.

The interpretive play area was awarded the Universal Access Award by California State Parks for “outstanding achievement in increasing universal access” by all visitors regardless of physical limitations.

Kids Club at The Commons at Calabasas

Stop by The Commons at Calabasas (4799 Commons Way) every Tuesday night at 6pm for a weekly dose of fun, including music, dance, arts, crafts, entertainment and so on.

JCPenney Kids Zone at The Oaks Mall 2nd Saturday of Each Month

JCPenney Kids Zone at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks takes place from 11 am to noon the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Feb 8: Create a Valentine’s Day Desk Box - Spread the love just in time for Valentine’s Day. The kiddos can create a special box for their valentines & create a card for their favorite teacher at the JCPenney Kids Zone on February 8th from 11am to 12pm. The Play Destination was a 5,000 sq ft indoor playground and birthday party center for children, with comfortable seating and modern decor for parents. Mini Golf at Umami Burger Thousand Oaks

Umami Burger at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks opened its doors on May 3, 2012. Previously Umami was Nate N Al Deli, which closed its doors on January 4, 2012. Before that, Sushi Ko resided in the spot from 2005 to August 2009. Yes, sushi, deli and gourmet burgers all in this spot at The Lakes...but one thing that hasn't changed is the little mini-golf area outside of the restaurant! Yeah!!

We stopped by to sample the gourmet Umami burgers (they were pricey but really good) and while awaiting the food, my 6 year old and I entertained ourselves on the green. They have plenty of clubs and mini wiffle balls on hand in the restaurant.
