It’s been raining almost nonstop throughout Ventura County since last Thursday through today, Super Bowl Sunday and anticipated for another day or two. When there’s rain, there’s a rainbow awaiting. Here are some beauties.
It was cloudy and relatively cool this morning and then we saw hot and humid monsoonal weather the rest of the day, this first day of August 2017 in the Conejo Valley.
The temperatures gradually cooled as the clouds built up again in the late afternoon to early evening, when we were greeted by this beautiful rainbow around 7pm tonight.
As soon as I stepped outside just after 4pm today, I noticed the sun shining amid the clouds and I uttered out loud, "This is rainbow weather!"
Sure enough, I was right. We drove a block and noticed the beautiful, massive rainbow in Thousand Oaks, but we missed the double rainbow that wowed local residents after an entire day of cloud cover, cold and rain.
Here are some of my favorites from THIS FACEBOOK POST.
Kevin Herold of Oak Park captured this promising looking full rainbow in Oak Park yesterday, the 2nd and final day of clouds and light rains here in the Conejo Valley, Ventura County area. Although this fickle weather we're seeing is forecast to jump towards triple digit heat yet again towards the weekend, we were happy to see the rain and rainbows and hopeful for much more to come.
After a night of moderate rains (about 1/4 of an inch) in the Conejo Valley, a spectacular rainbow was seen this morning around 8 a.m. What a great start to the month of November!
A stunning shot of the rainbow from above by Darts Promoter L. David Irete.
And a shot from Malibu by Suzy Demeter of Suzy Demeter Photography.
Today was quite an unusual day of clear skies, rain, thunder, lightning and....rainbows! Chris Rowell of Newbury Park captured this outstanding shot of the double rainbow hovering above the Conejo Valley late this afternoon. You don't see rainbows this clear that often!
It had been awhile since we had rain around here! But apparently the sun is coming back this weekend. That's a good thing because there are quite a number of pumpkin patches around town awaiting visitors. See you there! The weather was seasonably warm this Labor Day weekend and under partly cloudy skies most of the day. To me the weather seemed picture perfect, and I believe this rainbow photo taken from the North Ranch section of Westlake Village sums up what a great weekend it was.

I encourage you to take a look at this worthy local non-profit that helps our local community. Their biggest fundraiser of the year, the CFC 24th Annual Fall Golf Classic, is coming up on October 8th.
Here were some of those clouds a little earlier tonight above Conejo Mountain, seen from the 101 Freeway in Camarillo.
