Zen Garden Chinese Cuisine in Oak Park Closing September 30th; Yunnan Garden to Open in the Coming Weeks

Got word this week that Zen Garden Chinese Cuisine in Oak Park at 668 Lindero Canyon Road is going through a change in ownership. It will be operating through Friday, September 30th, then in the coming weeks will reopen as Yunnan Garden, offering authentic Yunnan/Sichuan style Chinese food.

Zen Garden originally opened in May 2013, giving it a nine year, four month run. Osaka Sushi was the previous tenant in that spot for you local history buffs.

Parma's Pizzeria Agoura Hills to Open on Wednesday, September 14th

Parma Pizzeria Thousand Oaks has announced that its 2nd location, Parma's Pizzeria Agoura Hills will be opening on Wednesday, September 14th at 5649 Kanan Road (Agoura Meadows Shopping Center) (Latigo Kid/Italia Deli/Cronies/Vons)

The original Parma Pizzeria Napoletana in Thousand Oaks opened in January 2017.

Freda's Woodfired Kitchen is coming soon to the North Ranch Mall in Westlake Village, a few doors down from Trader Joe's, in the spot formerly occupied by Urban Pizza (closed in 2017) and Qdoba (closed in 2013). Hook Burger Westlake Village Has Closed; Board & Brew Coming Soon to The Shoppes at Westlake Village

Got the heads up today from Martin W that Hook Burger at The Shoppes at Westlake Village (across from In N Out Burger) has closed. August 28th was their last day. It originally opened in October 2014.

In other news, "Board & Brew" will be coming soon to The Shoppes, serving specialty sandwiches and craft beer. No other info at this time. boardandbrew.com

Crumbl Cookies to Open Location at The Village at Newbury Park (OPENED MAY 12TH)

UPDATE: Crumbl Cookies Newbury Park opened on May 12th.

Learned tonight thanks to a heads up from Mackenzie P via Instagram that another Crumbl Cookies is coming soon to the Conejo Valley. This one will be located at The Village at Newbury Park, 935 Broadbeck Drive, Unit B, in the former AT&T store in between Chipotle and Islands. The Westlake Village location opened a month ago at The Shoppes at Westlake Village. Another location at the Oxnard Esplanade opened July 1st

WaBa Grill Opened Last Month in Camarillo

WaBa Grill opened a mew location in Camarillo last month in the Camarillo Plaza, 1877 E. Daily Drive, Suite G in the former home of Papa John’s.

This fast-serve eatery serves rice bowls, salads and plates with chicken, steak, “WaBa” (chicken and steak), “Plantspired” Steak (made from plants), salmon, shrimp and tofu.

On The Alley opened last week at the Ventura Harbor Village, 1559 Spinnaker Drive #100 in Ventura, in the former home of Fratelli’s Pizza. On The Alley is a more casual, sister-venue to Brophy Bros., which is located upstairs..
