The City of Malibu, HRL Laboratories and Pepperdine University proudly present the 19th Annual Veterans Day Public Ceremony on Sunday, November 11, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Malibu City Hall's Civic Theater, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road. Join the City in honoring all the men and women who serve and have served our nation in the military.
Join the Malibu City Council, commissioners, local businesses, schools, residents and community-based organizations in honoring all those men and women who serve and have served our nation in the military. Ted Silverberg will serve as MC. A local Boy Scout troop will conduct the flag salute. Live performances include a dance routine by L.A. Swing Dance and patriotic songs by Kathy Bee, Yolanda Tolentino and local Malibu high and middle school students. Malibu Poet Laureate Ricardo Means Ybarra will read a patriotic poem he wrote to commemorate Veterans Day. The Pt. Mugu Color Guards will post and retire the flags. Flags from Pepperdine's annual 9/11 memorial flag exhibition will be displayed along the road leading up to City Hall. The Boy Scouts will distribute American flag pins to all attending Veterans and service members. A free reception with refreshments is open to all guests following the ceremony.
Any current or former members of the military may arrive early at 10:30 AM to be seated in a reserved section.
