Tierra Rejada Golf Club - Moorpark


Tierra Rejada Golf Club is a public golf facility located at 15187 Tierra Rejada Road in Moorpark.  Opened in December 1999, it is nestled in the foothills of eastern Ventura County.  Nationally renowned architect Robert E. Cupp created this par 72 masterpiece of playability and scenic beauty.

Tierra Rejada may be played from four sets of tees, (5,148 yards from the forward tees to over 7,000 from the back tees), each catering to a golfer's own ability. On a related note, why do they call 3 strikes in a row a "turkey" in bowling? According to www.bowl.com, the term "turkey" dates back to before the turn of the 20th century, when it was much more challenging bowling strikes. During Thanksgiving or Christmas week, bowling alley owners would often award a live turkey to the first person on a team to score 3 strikes in a row.

Conejo Fencing Club

The Conejo Fencing Club, established in 1976, supports both recreational and competitive fencers. All levels of skill and all three weapons (foil, èpèe, and sabre) are taught and fenced at the club.  The club meets at the Conejo Community Center, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks

Classes include: Introduction to Fencing -  provides background on the sport of fencing, teaches proper footwork basics, simple attacks and the basic parries. Beginning Fencing for students who have fenced before, covering more advanced footwork, strategy, attacks and parries. Fencing Club is for fencers who do not need/want lessons, but just want to fence. Makes sense.

Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center

The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is a state-of-the-art recreational facility offering a variety of recreational, social, cultural and educational programs and activities for the surrounding communities.  The 30,000 sq ft facility features tournament-level basketball courts, a full-service fitness studio, a 35-foot realistic rock climbing wall, a multi-purpose activity room with a patio, a dance/exercise studio and a large banquet hall for special events and rentals.  There is also a child watch playroom and after school programs for kids.  The facility is open 7 days a week.
