Upcoming Events and Activities at the Camarillo Public Library

The City of Camarillo Public Library is located at 4101 Las Posas Road and is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm and Friday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. It can be reached at 805.388.5222. Friends of the Library Sunday Concert Series July 15 2-3pm 

Have you ever wanted to hear beautiful & mellow acoustic renditions of your favorites songs? Then you'll love this month's performance played by the Fireside Acoustic Band! With two guitars, a keyboard and a female vocalist with the voice of an angel, this band turns classic and modern songs into soothing and harmonious entertainment that is sure to win the hearts of all ages. The reviews praise them as "breathtaking," "polished," and "superb" among numerous other compliments. You can sample some of their incredible songs at!

Monday, July 16th 2-4pm - Classic Movies with Library Bob. Free Screening of "Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951) followed by Q&A. Two detective-school graduates (Bud Abbott, Lou Costello) help a framed boxer who can make himself disappear.

Sun, July 29th 2-3pm - Author Visit and Book Signing: Regina Calcaterra

This year’s Camarillo Reads author, Regina Calcaterra, will join us for a discussion of her book, Q&A and book signing. Ms. Calcaterra will discuss her powerful memoir, Etched in Sand. During her talk she will provide insight to her audience, by relating her own childhood experiences and showing how simple acts of encouragement and kindness can forever impact the life of a child in need. Mrs. Figs’ Bookworm will be at the event selling copies of the book.

Sat, Aug 4th 2-5pm - Movie & Lecture: Detective Story - Fact vs. Fiction

CSI and LAPD Detective Paul Bishop will host a screening of the Kirk Douglas film, Detective Story (1951). Det. Bishop will offer up his experiences in how the field of detective work has changed over the years, and how close the film depicts the truth.

Monday, August 6th 2-4pm - Classic Movies with Library Bob. Free Screening of "The Sound of Music" (1965) followed by Q&A. 

Friends of the Library Sunday Concert Series Sunday Aug 19 2-3pm

One of today's busiest comedians, Thousand Oaks native Jason Love has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, America's Got Talent and over 20 national broadcasts. He works clean and even plays music, making him a favorite for major companies like Google, Chevron, and perfect for the Camarillo Library! L.A. Weekly comments, “Jason Love is comedy that brings people together.” He has performed overseas for the troops and on the seas for cruise lines, and was also a finalist at the Cabo Comedy Festival & the World Series of Comedy in Vegas! You won't want to miss this local celebrity honoring us with a special comedy routine!

Wed, July 11 - 10am and 2pm - Sciencetellers: Wild West - Join us on a "Wild West" adventure with "The Legend of the Player Piano." We will be using science to tell the story.

Thursdays, July 12th through August 9th - 2:00pm to 3:00pm - Comic Book Design for Beginners - learn how to make your own mini comic.

Sat, July 14 11am to 1pm - Rocketship Run and Crafts - fun crafts and obstacle course

Wed, July 18 10am and 2pm - California Joe - Come on a magical adventure with California Joe and his amazing tricks from around the world!
