Oxnard Hosts Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, November 11, 2023

The City of Oxnard, Disabled American Veterans, Salvation Army, Knights of Columbus, Military Officers Association of America and Boy Scouts of America are hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard, 500 South C Street, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. The outdoor ceremony will take place next to the Veterans Memorial at Plaza Park. Event will feature speakers that include Captain Robert “Barr” Kimnach III, Commanding Officer, Naval Base Ventura County, Mayor John C. Zaragoza, Jess Herrera, President of the Oxnard Harbor District Board of Commissioners and Sal Gonzales, First Lieutenant, U.S. Army Veteran.

The community is invited to join in celebrating Veterans and current members of the military who have served our country and our community at the 24th Annual Malibu Veteran’s Day Public Ceremony, Saturday, November 11, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Malibu City Hall's Civic Theater.

The theme of this year’s event is “Legacy of Generations In Service.” The event is sponsored by the Malibu Navy League, Pepperdine University, the City of Malibu, the Malibu Association of Realtors, International Protective Service (IPS) and Malibu Times.

The event will feature Veteran speakers, poetry, dancers, musical performances, a Color Guard, and a visit from the Mini Therapy Horses. Students from local schools in Malibu, ROTC and Sea Cadets will participate. Lunch and refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

 All current and former members of the military are invited to arrive early at 10:30 AM to be greeted and escorted to VIP seating by the Pepperdine Ambassadors Council. The program begins at 11:00 AM, and lunch will be served 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. Malibu City Hall is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu.

Veterans Day Commemoration at the Reagan Library on Friday, November 10, 2023

To honor the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Event on Friday, November 10, 2023. The day’s activities include live musical entertainment, a civil war encampment, a military vehicle display and a program honoring all branches of our military.

The program, which begins at 11:00 a.m., includes an honor guard, live music, and remarks by keynote speaker LtCol Scott Mann (retired). LtCol Mann is a former U.S. Army Green Beret with tours all over the world, including Columbia, Iraq, and multiple tours in Afghanistan. Following the Veterans Day program, LtCol Mann will be signing copies of his bestselling book, Operation Pineapple Express.

Outdoor events and the program are free to attend; however, reservations are recommended to attend the program and to pre-purchase Operation Pineapple Express. Live musical entertainment starts at 10:30 a.m. The program, which begins at 11 a.m., includes an honor guard, live music, and remarks by keynote speaker and US Army Veteran Brad Taylor. Brad Taylor served for 21 years, retiring as a Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel, with his final assignment as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. He is now a New York Times bestselling author of his Pike Logan series; with more than 15 installments and more than 3 million copies sold.

Following the program, Mr. Taylor will be signing copies of his latest book, End of Days.

Outdoor events and the program are free to attend; however, reservations are recommended to attend the program.
