Beachfront Run Half Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids Run in Ventura on Saturday, June 8, 2024

The Ventura Beachfront Run (1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids Fun Run) will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024 with a scenic course along the beautiful coastline.  The race will begin on the north side of the Ventura Pier, 668 Harbor Boulevard. 

The half marathon and 10K runs along the oceanfront promenade and extends along the Pacific Coast Highway creating a flat and scenic course.  The 5K runs out and back along the oceanfront promenade.  Half marathon starts at 7 am. 2024 Music Under the Stars at Olivas Adobe in Ventura, July 13 to August 31

The City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division presents the popular Music Under the Stars series, Saturday nights beginning July 13 through August 31, 2024. Performances run from 7:30 to 9:30 pm outdoors at the historic Olivas Adobe, 4200 Olivas Park Drive, near Ventura Harbor. Concerts start at 7:30 pm & gates open at 6:30 pm for dining. 2024 Gold Coast Gem Show at Ventura County Fairgrounds the Weekend of May 24-26

The Gold Coast Gem Show is planned for May 24-26, 2024 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard, Ventura. Admission is free. Hours 10am to 5pm Friday/Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

2024 Boogie Nights Summer Run Series in Ventura May 22 to July 24

The Boogie Nights Summer Run Series is back for a 10 week run in 2024 on Wednesday nights from May 22nd through July 24th, starting at 6:30 pm. 5K start/finish is at San Buenaventura State Beach, 901 San Pedro St, Ventura. Free kids run starts at 6 pm.

Chip timing, light snacks after the run, a t-shirt for those that register for the series and flat course along the Ventura Promenade. Cost is less than $20 per race or $120 for the entire 10 week series, including t-shirt.

Ventura Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 20, 2024

The Earth Day Festival will return to downtown Ventura on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at Park Plaza on East Thomson Street. This year, hosted by the MERITO Foundation in collaboration with the City of Ventura Sustainability Division and over 40 environmentally minded not-for-profit organizations, governmental agencies, transportation and utilities industries, outdoor recreation businesses, and sustainable food and goods vendors. The Ventura Earth Day Festival 2024 theme is "A celebration of our Blue Planet, Earth!"

Some event highlights include a blessing by Chumash Elder Alan Salazar, followed by opening remarks by our City of Ventura Mayor, Mr. Joe Schroeder. Then, a series of live performances by Inlakech Art Center’s Mariachi Band & Ballet Folkrórico; local singer and writer Olivia Willhite’s Ukulele Surf Pop; Jazz by Cabrillo Middle School Jazz Band "A" & Ventura High School Jazz Combo, with ending performance by ‘Strange,’ an outstanding local Youth Rock Band. In addition, the most current Electric Vehicles (EV) will be displayed; Patagonia's Child Development Center will lead the Kid’s Zone activities; Bike Valet Parking will be available, and all are encouraged to participate in interactive games, the Earthly costume contest, and trivia to win prizes.

In addition, governmental and non-governmental environmental organizations will share information and opportunities with the community, such as events, rebates, programs, and supplies that benefit the planet, regional economies, and human health. We highly encourage all attendees to carpool, use public transportation, or bike to Park Plaza on April 20th. A public parking lot is ½ block from Park Plaza on Santa Clara St.

38th Annual California Strawberry Festival at the Ventura County Fairgrounds May 18-19, 2024

The 38th Annual California Strawberry Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2024 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura). Festivalgoers can indulge in strawberry treats from over 50 food and beverage booths. The festival features artists and crafters, a Ninja Nation obstacle course, live entertainment on two stages, "build-your-own" strawberry shortcake and more.

Since its inception, the nonprofit California Strawberry Festival has donated over $5 million to Southern California charitable organizations. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $15, active military with ID and family and seniors 62 and over, $10, youth ages 5 to 12, $8, children 4 and under, free. Limited parking onsite is $20 per vehicle.
