The Oaks Mall Indoor Play Area - Thousand Oaks

The new and improved play area for kids under 42 inches, opened in 12/07, is located by the new food court outside of JC Penney on the 1st floor.

The new play area has become quite a popular place for the younger set. The kids love jumping and climbing on the different animals, the big tree tunnel and slide, the little bridge, etc. We have been here a dozen times and it is usually pretty active, kids running around having fun.  Here is a short video of the place in June 2009:

While my kids love it, it feels a bit cramped to me. That said, it is a fun place for the little ones to take a break from the doldrums of shopping with mommy/daddy.

Make sure your little ones take their shoes off before climbing on the equipment, as it is geared towards indoor use.

Strategically placed next to the play area are nicely appointed family restrooms. These are really nice. I hope they stay that way!

One other note. The new food court adjacent to the play area has a lot of room, both indoors and outdoors. In fact, you will be very pleasantly surprised by the outdoor patio area. It is very large and has a fountain.Take the kids out here and they will enjoy running around!
