Build-a-Bear Workshop - The Oaks Mall

Build-a-Bear Workshop, located on the 2nd floor of The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, offers your little ones the ability to customize their own stuffed critters in a very experiential setting. We've been to several birthday parties at Build-a-Bear (including our 5 year old son) and the process they take the kids through is really a lot of fun.
From choosing the bear (or other furry creature), adding a "sound" or "voice" to it, stuffing it, choosing a heart, stitching, fluffing, naming it, getting the birth certificate, dressing it and transporting him or her home in a little cardboard condo. And of course accessorizing the animal requires follow-up visits. While there's only so much of this place that I can endure, it is worth every excruciating moment when I see the smile on my kids' faces.
