Celebration of the Whales Festival at Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, April 7, 2024

The 25th Annual Celebration of the Whales Festival is planned for Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 10am to 3pm at the Channel Islands Harbor, 3350 Harbor Blvd, Oxnard.

The event will feature family fun, chalk art, shopping, kids’ fun zone and more.

Activities will be held at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, the Channel Islands Harbor Farmers Market and a “Gray Whale Migration Trail” that runs through Harbor View Park that connects the two activity centers.

Channel Islands Harbor Parade of Frights on Saturday, October 28, 2023

The 2nd Annual Parade of Frights at the Channel Islands Harbor is a non-competitive, Halloween-themed boat parade scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Prior to the Parade of Frights, a variety of organizations and businesses will be offering Halloween-related events and activities.

2023 Channel Islands Harbor 4th of July Electric Boat Parade

Central Coast Electric Boats and Channel Islands Yacht Club present their annual 4th of July Electric Boat Parade around the east and west channels of Channel Islands Harbor on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 4-6PM. More than 75 patriotic-themed electric boats will be participating. Sponsored by Central Coast Electric Boats and the Channel Islands Yacht Club.

2023 Fireworks by the Sea at Channel Islands Harbor on Tuesday, July 4th

The 4th of July Celebration at Channel Islands Harbor offers a full day of activities, entertainment, and great food. Come and enjoy exhibits, an artists’ market, children’s rides and games and finish the day with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 p.m. Free event.

Holiday Lighting of the Tallship Mast at the Maritime Museum on Saturday, December 14th

The Channel Islands Maritime Museum will present their second annual “Holiday Lighting of the Tallship Mast” on Saturday December 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The “CocoKnots” will perform live music with a tropical flair along with public sing-alongs to holiday favorites. At 6:30 PM Santa Claus will arrive onboard an antique fire engine and flip the switch to light up the iconic Tallship Mast in front of the Maritime Museum. Following the Lighting Ceremony, Santa will be on hand to meet and greet children in his special nautical sleigh. The non-profit Maritime Museum is located at 3900 Bluefin Circle in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor. cimmvc.org. This is a FREE Community Family Event.

The 54th Annual Channel Islands Harbor Parade of Lights follows at 7 PM and can be viewed free on the water side of the Maritime Museum or enjoy inside seating (including dinner, sweets, and holiday cheer!) for $25 per person. For more information contact 805-207-9579.

Electric Car Show at Channel Island Harbor's Harbor View Park on Sunday, September 9, 2018

The Channel Islands Harbor will host the 3rd Annual Electric Car Show from 9:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Harbor View Park (also referred to as West Channel Park) near Marine Emporium Landing.

If you are interested in electric vehicles and would like to learn more, plan to visit and check out the variety of makes and models that will be on display. Talk to electric vehicle owners and learn from their experiences. Learn about very low cost commuting that also lowers air pollution.

If you are an electric vehicle owner – register and bring your car to the event. Share your real life experience about driving an electric vehicle with others in your community and network with other electric vehicle drivers and educate the public about the advantages of electric vehicle use and ownership. This is an opportunity for us to come together to make connections and influence change.

This National Drive Electric Week event is presented by Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Local sponsors include the Los Padres Chapter Sierra Club and the Sustainability Council of Ventura County. On the ground support and organization is being provided by the EV Advocates of Ventura County.
