The California Oil Museum in Santa Paula opened their newest exhibit on July 14th with nearly 100 visitors coming through the doors to brush up on their trivia. “Did You Know??? 500 Wacky Facts to Boggle Your Mind” is a colorful array of factual information and pictures about animals, outer-space, the human body, science, nature, history, food and nearly every topic you can think of.
“A museum experience plays a pivotal role in how we take in the world around us. This fun colorful exhibit is educational for kids and adults and is guaranteed to make one exclaim ‘huh, I didn’t know that’ at least a few times,” said Holly Cole, Executive Director of the California Oil Museum. “As an example, Did you know Ketchup was originally sold as medicine in the 1830s? Or, Did you know a hummingbird’s heart beats more than 1,000 beats per minute?”

It also has changing exhibits of history, science and other topics of interest several times throughout the year. The Museum us housed in the original 1890’s Union Oil Company headquarters.
