5-Star Theatricals (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre), the resident professional theatre production company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, has launched its new website and rebranding in preparation for its 2017-18 season, which kicks off in October with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, directed by Will North, with musical direction by Dr. Cassie Nickols, conducted by Dan Redfeld.
Under its new name, 5-Star Theatricals will still be offering the high-quality musicals and community outreach programs the community and the theatre company’s fans have embraced and supported for more than three decades, while exploring new opportunities to offer additional shows. The launch of the new website, www.5startheatricals.com — which offers information on upcoming shows, how to become a season ticket member and community outreach initiatives — officially completed the rebranding transition, with the company’s social media platforms following shortly thereafter in visual branding updates.
“This name change is a chance for us expand into providing even more to the community as we continue to move forward,” said Will North, managing director of 5-Star Theatricals. “The mission and vision of our theatre company — to provide the highest-quality theater experience, to foster educational opportunities, and to promote cultural and artistic enrichment to enhance the quality of life in Southern California — still remain our foundation, and we look forward to attracting new fans, in addition to pleasing old ones with our continued Broadway-quality productions and dedication to giving back to the community.”
Up first in 5-Star Theatricals’ 2017-18 season lineup is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Scheduled for a two-week run with nine performances from Oct. 13-22, 2017, 5-Star Theatricals’ production of the popular musical about the Biblical character of Joseph is reimagined and like never before with choreography created by the award-winning Dave Scott of the films, “You Got Served” and “Step Up 2: The Streets” as well as the popular TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Patrick Cassidy, son of Jack Cassidy, who performed in the 2000 and 2006 national tours of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will star as Pharaoh, and singer/voice actor Laura Dickinson will appear as The Narrator. Tickets are available for purchase now.
