July 4th Celebration at Bethany Church on the Hill in Thousand Oaks

Join the 4th of July fun and see the best panoramic view of Conejo Valley's Independence Day fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Bethany Church on the Hill in Thousand Oaks. The festivities begin at 6:00 PM. Free children's activities include balloon artists, patriotic crafts, inflatable play zone, petting zoo, face painting, games and more! Live music provided. Hot dogs, burgers, shaved ice and snacks will be available for purchase from Bethany Church's Missions Team with all proceeds supporting the Hands of Mercy Loft House Project.

2019 Rotary Club of Ventura 4th of July Fireworks Show and Family Picnic

Rotary Club of Ventura proudly presents the 25th Ventura Fireworks Show celebrating family, community and country on the 4th of July at the beautiful Ventura College fields. Gates open at 5 pm with a spectacular fireworks show at 9 pm. The evening also includes live music, robotics demonstration, giveaways, food vendors, and a Kids Fun Zone with bounce houses, GIANT inflatable attractions and organized games. Discounted Family Packs are available at venturafireworks.com now through July 4th at 5 pm. Tickets will also be available at Vons and at the Gate.

Guests may bring a picnic, including food, coolers, non alcoholic drinks (in plastic or aluminum), blankets and soft folding chairs. Small umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed.  Please no pets and no BBQs/stoves. Games and activities like hula hoops and Frisbees are welcome as are your dancing shoes and positive attitude.

Tickets are available at each entrance gate the night of the event at standard rates of $8 adult, $6 child (4-12 years). Single tickets only at gate. Children 3 and under are FREE!

2019 Regency Theatres Kids $2 Summer Movie Series June 18 through August 8 in Agoura, Ventura

Regency Theatres is hosting a Kids Summer Movie Series at locations in Agoura Hills and Ventura, featuring popular kids' films, all rated PG, every Tuesday & Thursday at 10:30 am.  Doors open at 10:00 am. 50th Annual Westlake Village 4th of July Parade and Party in the Park

The 50th Annual City of Westlake Village 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4, 2019 will line up at 9:30 AM and proceed down the decorated four block route at 9:45 AM.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their bike, scooter, skateboard, or wagon in patriotic colors and join the City of Westlake Village for this wonderful patriotic celebration! Residents are also welcome to cheer participants on from the side of the parade route.

Awards for Most Patriotic Pooch, Most Patriotic Baby (0-1), Most Patriotic Toddler (2-4), Most Patriotic Elementary (K-5), Most Patriotic Middle School (Grades 6-8), Most Patriotic High (9-12), Most Patriotic Young Adult (age 19-23), Most Patriotic Adult (24-49), Most Patriotic Senior (55 and up) and Most Patriotic Family!

But wait! Before the parade, starting at 8am, Boy Scout Troop #752’s pancake breakfast will take place at the former Westlake Village Medical Center Property at 4415 Lakeview Canyon at 8:00 am. Breakfast tickets are available for $5 per person or $20 per family.

The event begins at the corner of Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Road and marches down the four-block Agoura Road route to Berniece Bennett Park.

Once the parade arrives at the park there will be a U.S. flag retirement ceremony performed by Boy Scout Troup 485, followed by music, inflatables, old-fashioned games and free popsicles and water. The Rotary will be on hand selling hot dogs and snacks, with proceeds benefiting a local charity.

Ventura 4th of July Street Fair and 44nd Annual Children's Pushem-Pullem Parade

The 44th Annual City of Ventura 4th of July Street Fair on Thursday, July 4, 2019 extends along Main Street from Fir Street to Ventura Avenue as well as side streets Chestnut, Oak and California interspersed with six stages of entertainment and free shuttle bus service from the Ventura County Government Center to the Street Fair. 

The event covers seven blocks of Main Street and several side streets filled with over 200 fine artists, crafters, nonprofit organizations and food booths, as well as continuous live entertainment. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event is free to the public.

Kids Zone at Mission Park includes rides, inflatables and a Ventura Fire Department fire engine!

A free shuttle service to the event from the Ventura County Government Center is available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Last shuttle leaving the Street Fair is at 5 p.m. Theme for this year's event is "We have liftoff!" in honor of the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo Program.

The 44th Annual Children’s Pushem - Pullem Parade at 9:30 a.m. is sponsored by the East Ventura Rotary Club.  Assemble at Cemetery Park at Main and Crimea Streets at 9 a.m.  The parade proceeds down Main Street to Fir Street at 9:30 a.m.

2019 City of Agoura Hills Summer Concerts in the Park - June through August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services and The Acorn Newspapers are pleased to announce the 2019 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and (except for July 21st) are held at Chumash Park, located at 5550 Medea Valley Dr. in Agoura Hills.  Concerts are free to the public. The concert on July 21st will take place at the Agoura High School PAEC, 28545 Driver Avenue.

2019 Conejo Recreation & Park District "Touch-a-Truck" Event on Saturday, June 15th

One of the most popular children's events in the area is the Annual Conejo Recreation & Park District's Touch-a-Truck event in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, June 15, 2019 (day before Father's Day) from 10am to 2pm.

Dozens and dozens of trucks and large vehicles of all shapes and sizes, all at Thousand Oaks Community Center, 2525 North Moorpark Road, near Thousand Oaks High School. This is a hugely popular event! Parking at the park fills up quickly, so be prepared to park at the T.O. High School parking lot south of the tennis courts and football field (corner of Moorpark Road and Avenida de Las Flores) and walk a block north up Moorpark Road.

See a garbage truck, Army truck, stretch limousine, tractor, excavator, dump truck, school bus, fire engine, ambulance, police van, monster truck, bulldozer, police cruiser, motorcycle, you name it. Too many to mention and your kids can check them out first-hand. They let your kids honk the horns, kick the tires, work the controls, blare the sirens, etc. In other words, bring aspirin!

NOTE: According to CRPD, there will NOT be a helicopter landing this year due to soccer field refurbishment.

There are numerous other activities, including kids construction play area, power wheel course, arts and crafts, wash-a-truck, jolly jumps, and a motorized train ride and refreshments for sale! Throughout the event you will find live truck demonstrations to consist of water balloons being dropped from the cherry picker, beach balls being unloaded from the dump truck, and even a helicopter landing!
