2019 Ojai Valley Century Bike Ride on Saturday, June 1st

The 2019 Ojai Valley Century bike ride on Saturday, June 1st has five scenic routes: metric century (63 miles), full century (101 miles), double metric century (134 miles), hammerhead century (102 miles) and half metric century (31 miles).

All routes include tours out of Ojai, past Casitas Lake and up over the double Casitas Pass, a fast ride down the other side into Carpinteria and back down the coast to Ventura. Post race BBQ included! More information at www.ojaivalleycentury.org.

2019 Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Fundraiser in Oxnard on Saturday, June 1st

The Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Hosted By Oxnard Fire Explorer Post 9244 is planned for Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Topa Financial Plaza Towers, 300 East Esplanade Drive, Oxnard. Check in starts at 9 am. Start by running up then back down the stairs in the 14-story City National Bank tower. Head out and cross the parking lot through a series of obstacles (obstacles are optional). This course will lead you to the larger Morgan Stanley tower. Enter the north stairs then race up 22 flights. Water will be available every seven floors and on the rooftop. Exit to the roof, cross the finish line, then take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view and to revel in your run.

50 floors, 1,089 stairs, 500 feet!

Post race, join your family and friends at Public Safety Day. Demos will be ongoing from Fire and Police Departments, K9s and other public safety teams from the county.  Enjoy music and food with the entire family. Food trucks on hand until 3pm.

7th Annual Autism Society of Ventura County Aut2Run Event on Sunday, April 28, 2019

The Autism Society of Ventura County hosts its 6th Annual charity “Aut2Run!” race at California State University Channel Islands on Sunday, April 28, 2019. The event features a 10K trail run at 7:00 am, 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 am, 15K "Hero Run" (10K and 5K combined!), 1 mile walk/run at 10:15 am and a Fun-K at 10:45 am. Proceeds benefit the Autism Society of Ventura County. ASVC is a local chapter of the national Autism Society, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of all affected by Autism. 2019 Walk MS Conejo Valley in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, April 6th

Nearly 800 Conejo Valley residents are expected to raise nearly $160,000 at Walk MS: Conejo Valley on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Walk MS is an opportunity for people living with MS and those who care about them to connect, join together, and be inspired. In 2016 alone, nearly 300,000 people at more than 550 locations across the country walked to create a world free of MS, raising nearly $50 million.

WHEN: April 6; Check-in opens at 8 a.m.; opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and walk begins at 10 a.m. (1 mile and 5K routes available)

Rotary Club of Camarillo Hap Rapp Track Meet for Youth on Saturday, May 11, 2019

The Hap Rapp Track Meet is a Camarillo tradition.  Rotarian Hap Rapp founded the meet for aspiring young athletes six decades ago.

This year the meet will be on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 8am to 4pm at the Adolfo Camarillo High School Track.  The meet is designed for 4th through 8th graders to discover their athletic ability.  Over 300 students from 14 schools are expected to participate.  Dozens of volunteers will measure and time the events.  Ribbons will be presented and high scores will be posted.  The Guy Craig Memorial Award will go to the school that demonstrates the best overall preparedness, sportsmanship, conduct and cooperation. 

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders providing humanitarian service and building goodwill.  Rotarians have served the needs of communities worldwide since 1905.  Rotary clubs meet in Camarillo on Tuesdays for breakfast and on Wednesdays at noon.  For more information about Rotary, see www.camarillorotary.org.

Relay for Life of Conejo Valley May 18-19, 2019

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Conejo Valley event is a life-changing experience that gives everyone in their community a chance to Celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, Remember loved ones lost, and Fight Back against the disease.  Join us for our event May 18-19, 2019 from 9AM-9AM.

All proceeds raised will benefit the American Cancer Society.  The event will feature live music, food, an event silent auction, and fun activities for all ages.  Bring the whole family and join us for a fun-filled 24 hour fundraising event to help Finish The Fight against cancer!

Nite Moves Run, Swim, Duathlon Series in Santa Barbara May 1 to Aug 28, 2019

The 31st Annual Nite Moves - Swimming, Running & Biathlon events take place every Wednesday evening at Leadbetter Beach, 801 Shoreline Road, Santa Barbara from May 2 through August 28, 2019. Event features food, entertainment and fun! Onsite registration begins at 5:30 pm. Swim starts at 6:20 pm; run at 6:30 pm.

Ocean conditions vary...Many brave this distance without a suit...Great workout for getting swim experience in a crowd as we usually have a 100 swimmers at the starting line...5K footraces begin at the east end of Shoreline. Out and back course with majestic views of the Santa Ynez Mountains circling Santa Barbara, race back and view Stearns Wharf, finishing in Leadbetter Beach Park.
